Your thoughts on PG/VG and Nic (and the combo) lifespan and what temperatures may help

Hello,
I am just wondering what you guys generally see the lifespan of your VG/PG vased nic lasting, and does it loose much taste or just loose nic after this year or two that is generally noted? Also the two, PG and VG alone would they age differently or possibly last longer? And with the above mentioned, does freezing it really help your lifespan dramatically with all three? what would you guys say the room temp life span vs the freezing lifespan would be?

thanks for the links wings, very helpful. I guess I didn't think to simply google it like I would anything else. always get lots of good differing opinions and solid info from you guys.

Do you guys generally steep your pg or vg and niq liquid before doing mixs? mine will probably sit a little bit before my attempt as im pretty much going to build a lab for it and not start until perfectly ready but I just made a good sized order from wizard labs for diy equipment, nic tester, beakers, bottles, vg/pg/nic, some safety stuff.. and I plan on getting one of those full on suits when they are back in stock, make me feel like some hazmat guy . I want to take every precaution possible.. + the fact I didn't get any flavorings I am starting with non flavored as I actually enjoy that vg sweet taste so im going to go around 80/20 vg/pg.

I only consider steeping when using flavors, letting the flavor molecules mix with the PG/VG & Nic. When I make unflavored I just shake well to make sure there are no hot spots and it's ready to vape. If you're using mostly VG (thick viscosity) you can put the mix (bottle) in a cup of hot water to thin it out for easier mixing. When VG is warmed it gets thinner until it cools back down to room temperature. Hope that helps!

would you say it really mattered how your pg/vg base itself is stored? plastic in cool dark place but not fridge? I am thinking I should order some glass bottles to store my nicotine base since it will seemingly come in a plastic bottle and it seems everyone goes for glass

I think in a cool dark place is cool for PG & VG. I bought a gallon of each though so I split each gallon up into four one quart glass Mason canning jars so I wasn't constantly opening the whole gallons and exposing them to air. It may be overkill but it gave me peace of mind, plus the wide mouth jars are easier to work with. Here's a thread I made on that very subject:

As for my Nic storage, I buy 500ml at a time. I break it up into 60ml amber glass bottles with polycone caps. I store them in the freezer, leaving one out to work with. When that one is almost empty, I take another one out.

perfect, I was thinking on doing something similar with 120ml glass bottles, maybe a little much even? I think I might order a good amount of those 60ml ambers off wizard as I got a 120 glass amber coming with my first order of 250 ml of 100 mg. still not going to start immediately as I am latterly building a station in my house to do this but I wanted to start getting supplies.. I am really debating on just getting like 1000ml from lucky 7 with this FDA thing coming on. they are supposed to release their vaping ideas by tomorrow or something or so they say? but its been said they they were going to Tuesday too.. im just wondering what they are going to do as the OP on the legislation form talked about banning all current devices and basically destroying everything but cigalikes. at least they shouldn't be able to mess w/ pg/vg as that is used in many MANY applications

GRR, I should have got more amber bottles on my initial order for free shipping as wizard labs has 11 dollar shipping for my 10 dollar order I was hoping they were cool and just had free shipping when I saw this but usually they will do that if its a higher dollar order. that's too bad. might be able to find some locally im going to look around a bit more since I only have 250 ml of base coming (at least I grabbed 1 of the 120ml glass ambers, and I have 2 15 ml glass bottles w/ no juice in them clean, I have 3 other amber bottles from a juice company about half full that I don't really like. I may have to find a different place to put the juices and use those to if I cant find anything good locally or soon) and get mason jars like you mentioned possibly and store in gun cabinet that is locked, mason jars sound like a good idea in the long run. constantly learning just hope, like I said I can continue to get my nic base without FDA issues as that is just ridiculous and I have contacted all my local congress/senate reps.
