Your thoughts on RY7

*Caveat, I have NOT made this yet, still thinking.

7 Leaves tobacco from FA, recommended by FA at 1.5%
Caramel Candy from TFA 1% [this is not my favorite flavor in the blend]
Vanilla Swirl from TFA 2% [this IS my favorite flavor]
Couple drops vape Wizard

Since I discovered all the RY4 recipes are calling for DRY4 or RY4asian and I don't have any!!

The idea is I want heavy tobacco, hints of sweetness. Do you think this will do it?

I'd bump up the 7 leaves to 2%, as when I tried it at 2% with a weeks steep, it was nice and tobacco-y but also had its own natural sweetness going on. Throw in .5% Vanillin (10% solution), and get a different caramel base (i never liked TFA's caramels). FW makes a good 'caramel candy' that works at around 5%, should probably be 2 for this recipe.

Aha, someone with experience, just what I need.

2% 7 Leaves, check.
Vanillin, check. I hate to tell you how many different vanillas are in my box. Is that in addition to the Vanilla Swirl?
I don't usually like TFA caramel but I thought just a hint would be okay. Lemme see, I also have Capellas, that's what I usually use but it needs more than 1% and I just want a *hint*.

I do have other things that are sweet, brown sugar, butter rum, butterscotch, graham cracker, etc. But for form's sake feel like I need to use caramel.

I'd use the vanillin in sync with the vanilla swirl, especially since you're keeping the vanilla swirl at such a low level. Anything above 6% and the 'swirl' side of vanilla swirl takes over imo. If you're looking for just a sweet tobacco vape, then by all means try some graham cracker and brown sugar. These two work especially well as sweeteners with tobacco at lower levels. But if you're looking for the caramel aspect of RY4, then search around for a better caramel. I sort of 'settled' on FW's version of caramel, but I'm sure there are other good ones out there.

Btw, Hangsen makes a good RY4 imo at around 3 to 5% if you can't get a hold of the TFA stuff you're looking for. Their RY1 is especially delicious (as I'm sure you've read), and might be a good base for this recipe you're putting together, possibly even in conjunction with the 7 leaves so as to tone down some of the 7 leaves sweetness to leave room for the vanilla/caramel to shine. Maybe 1.5% RY1 and 1.2% 7 leaves.

I have the Hangsen RY4 but I like it straight.

Thanks for your suggestions, I am half tempted to skip the caramel altogether if 7 Leaves is sweet without the bakery additions.

I would skip the caramel, try it, and if it needed a toasty note, add a drop of whatever nut flavor you like best to get it. I think you'd like that better than the caramel you really don't care for.

Np. Try it without the caramel first to see if it's sweet enough for you as-is. Taste is subjective, but I found the 7 leaves to be one of the sweeter richer tobaccos, as opposed to more of a plain base like RY1.

Might I suggest 7% on the 7 Leaves with 3% Dulce de Leche. Just might get you where you want to go.

Boomer, I keep reading about Dulce de Leche but I don't have any! I'm putting it on the very long wishlist.

What's 7L taste like at 7%? That's quite a jump from the manufacturer recommendation. Not like I would know, my bottle still has safety seal on it!

I've worked a lot with FA 7 Leaves and find it to be a bit weak. Seven percent hits the spot for me. That's stand alone one flavor. The DdL should give it a caramel note without a lot of sweetness. YMMV

We said skip the Caramel, but you could of thought of something else to replace it.
