Omg.. this has to be it.. reading from the box.. and what's up with the whining? "I pretty much have to do fis uhh review"

Jackhole.

Right?

What I got from the first two minutes:

"I like getting free stuff. I hate doing reviews. I like getting free stuff more than I hate doing reviews. I'm gonna do a half ... review of this free thing. I don't know what it is but I know I want to keep it."

What a turd.

Can someone confirm because I think I know but I'm not certain... this guy IS NOT "the" vapor Joe, of vaporjoes.com, is he?

Or when you have to stare at a Britney Spears poster and all of a sudden a random cat shows up lol.

This was my favourite review, I don't even remember what it was for. That cat bomb was just the best.

I watch Grimmgreen, obviously, and Pbusardo. They've never sold me anything but I just like having some background noise and images while I am cleaning clearos and refilling 'em, seems fitting that someone is talking about ecig stuff while I am doing the little stuff.

Having worked in "the business" for awhile, I can definitely say a couple of things.

First off, there are TONS of people looking for the freebies. It is a very safe bet that most if not all vendors are clobbered by emails weekly or even daily (I know because I saw them) from folks saying things like, "I am starting a Youtube channel/website/etc to review e-cig products and I would be happy to review your product and bring you more visibility if you can send me some samples". Some will go so far as to say, "and I will give you a great review". This of course would clog the internet with useless Greensmoke style videos where they are ALL extremely positive no matter what (and often display their affiliate coupon codes, from which they are paid). Obviously, many of the brand new vendors that have been popping up in droves might see a couple of 10ml bottles in exchange for any kind of visibility as a good thing. I imagine many of them cave and send lots of them out. Unfortunately, a large number of those promised reviews never occur. If the videos are made, well, I guess it would provide some kind of visibility, even if the reviewer is an idiot, but it's more like advertising on tv at 2am instead of during prime time. Just remember that asking for free stuff because you are "going to be" a reviewer is really played, and it is by no means original. PLEASE stop bothering hard working vendors with this crap!

Second, most reviewers who are already established and have a following don't seem to email vendors asking for free stuff. Many are not averse to freebies, although I know that some buy what they review and some WILL NOT accept freebies. With this type of reviewer, I think a vendor could normally trust that a review will happen and that it will be more or less impartial in lots of cases, unless of course they are not yet an established vendor. They may never get reviewed by this type. I could see this as being useful to a vendor if they can get their name on the list.

Third, there actually are people out there who want to be an upstanding and followed reviewer, and they have what it takes to do it. It can be very difficult to find these people among all of the junk reviewers out there, so many will never be seen.

Lastly, there is another type I don't think I saw mentioned in this thread: those who just want their share of Youtube fame. Some are particularly narcissistic, and are pretty easily identifiable. This type may not even ask for freebies because they are going to buy the stuff anyway and of course they have a webcam to be able to put themselves out there. These seem to be the most useless reviews and those kinds don't become big names in the reviewer world.

For the most part, reviews are great to get a general idea of how a device (or whatever) works, looks, performs, etc. Making purchase decisions based solely on reviews is not really a good idea, but it is often the closest someone can get to experiencing the item first hand. E-juice is a little different. What someone thinks about throat hit or flavor is utterly useless, UNLESS you have seen enough of their reviews, tried many of the flavors they talked about, and discovered that you agree with them. It can be hard to find those few reviewers you really identify with in the sea of junk out there. Plus, what tastes awesome to a ton of these people may taste like stale toe jam to another. Vapor production is a little easier to see on some vids, but of course what you see is very dependent upon their gear and even lighting in the room.

I'm not dissing all reviews, but take them with a grain of salt! If you think you like oh let's say, the eVic, and you watch a video about how crappy one is, don't write it off! Watch as many videos as you can and search the crap out of ECF about it. Better yet, go to your local B&M if you have one and get your hands on it. That's the best way to decide for yourself.
