Wow, you guys lasted a long time! I got to "scumbag". Click.
My favs are Todd, no BS, informative, and one of the few Scotts that I can comprehend without a translator. As in "Robert Carlyle said what???".
PBusardo too but his hand waving makes me dizzy so I don't last too long watching those sometimes.
There are a few more but I'll watch what I'm researching at the moment for a few different opinions.

I'm with Ocelot on the big rockin' intro. I'm always expecting David Lee Roth or that guy from Ratt and get.... Uncle Bob.

One of the reviewers probably held in the highest regard has been incorrect quite often when reviewing something he doesn't own or cherish.
In fact he will totally skip right over something terribly wrong about what he owns, but make up all kinds of weird and wonderful imaginary problems with Chinese products. Go figure. :) (Not Todd)

GrimmGreen and PBusardo are the only two I really watched and they were the only help I had getting into vaping which in my experience (and for the devices I was starting with) were very accurate. Learning about cartomizers, tanks, punching, and many other little intricacies.

(and burping really doesn't bother me, some people are so uptight :p)

I had a feeling it had to do with something kinky :pervy:

Audio came from the Howard Stern Show. It's on Youtube, but I would get banned of I linked it here as it is not Family or work place safe.

Search for-Can I taste Yer Juice if you want to hear where that audio originally came from.

I just watched a couple Pbusardo videos for the first time today. As a Stern fan, his intro definitely endeared him to me. And he had a funny moment in his Vamo review. I didn't see a Reo review from him yet, but maybe I just haven't found it yet. I've been vaping for a year in August and haven't made the leap to mods yet, so I'm trying to learn what I can before I bite the bullet and buy one. I'm still trying to figure out why I might need VW instead of just VV.

And yes, I did see his Provari review with the entertaining intro.

Just from the standpoint of perspective:

Personally I've stepped away from reviewing because doing free promotion for a product isn't really my thing. Back in the day (three years ago) many of us posted "reviews" or tutorials because we were dealing with product that barely worked, or required significant modification. So that crew of "reviewers" has sort of come and gone, along with that particular reason for reviewing.

Today, I'm skeptical of video reviews, from the standpoint of their utility.

Reviewing isn't a hobby anymore. It's more a "hobby industry". So for my own reasons, I've left it be for the most part.

There's some things which bother me, because I think the community relies too much on reviewers and "notable" e-cig people:

1. The opinion of the consumer (most of the people reading this) is what counts. And more non-well known people need to be posting opinions, in video form, to compete with the "big three reviewers" and the huge number of shows/networks. Back when I was active as a reviewer, there were 30 well known reviewers. Now there's like 3. And while I like those guys, that leaves out about 1,000,000 e-cig consumers' opinions.

2. This is a fact: You cannot cover the full spectrum of e-cigs as a "reviewer/personality" without free product or industry support. Anyone who tells you otherwise is lying. With rare exception, anyone running a show, network, or who is prolifically reviewing on youtube (with popularity) is inundated with vendors willing to front free product.

That's not to say everyone is dishonest- they are not. But the bias sneaks in when the relationship is formed with the vendors. A friendship, or perceived friendship, generally comes with the package.

Caveat Emptor.

It is for me, it's fun and I really enjoy it :)

That's what I really enjoy about your reviews, it is apparent you really enjoy the world of vaping and sharing it with others. You communicate almost as much with your facial expressions, at times, as you do with words.

Not that I enjoyed witnessing your agony but one of the vaping videos I have enjoyed most is your on cam VRDA Rebuild... of sorts.
Absolutely hilarious. I commend your persistence!

I think YouTube reviews help you make an informed choice. Obviously some of them are hilariously bad but if you find two reviewers who you trust to be honest (have different tastes) and you are lucky enough that they review the same product, even if they have different opinions about said product then you are learning. BUT I am new to this vaping lark.

Say for example you were looking at the iTaste VW V3 (mentioned in a post above). You want a vw for the outside the door of the pub vape that your mod might get you barred for. Say you want a little more bang for your buck than the twists are giving you?

So take two reviewers mentioned above who have reviewed the mentioned device:

You look at busardo's review, ok he likes it but when he tests it on his computer software, it doesn't perhaps hit the highs it's supposed to in its technical specifications. He knows about these things. So now, you've gone off it. In fact in black, it looks a bit of a chick's PV and the puff counter seems annoying. You scratch your head and look at 'English' (lol) Todd's review and he's also quite enthusiastic about it and it looks well blokey in Stainless. More of a Todd device. It is what it is he says. He knows about these things. So ok it ain't your mod but maybe it's a good stealth or outdoor unit that you don't have to worry too much about breaking. And it kind of works as a pass through if all your batteries are dead.

By watching both reviews you at least feel a bit more confident about what to expect. You get to see what it looks like in different colours and what it might look like with various atties. You get reviews of the atties it comes with, even the charger.

You may be more confused but you are MORE informed. And after watching a few reviews you know what rocks the reviewers' boats, and you start getting to know what rocks yours. You may not expect to see your favourite reviewers with said vw device out in public given their established preferences, but both have given their opinion fairly.

'Irish' Karl
