Hi everyone! My diy cinnamon e-juice tastes like soap! Has anyone ever heard this before? Iv'e been making e-juice for month's and I am still learning. Trial and error I know. I found out that cinnamon flavor drop's have to start out at a low 5% and up. I had made it at 20 % and Holy Moly.. It was hot!... so I measured out half of it, and took the same amount and mixed it in a syringe big enough to mix it half n half. At first it was aweome and after a few hours, it started to taste like soap! any newbies tried DIY? I do it to save money.(the bills eat that up) so, yeah Ive' been told by a vapor shop cinnamon will ruin your attys and carto's. I LOVE CINNAMON!!! If it's gonna taste like soap, I might as well eat soap, Please noone do this. Sandeeegirl:confused:

After you have 5 posts, you should really head to the DIY section. That's where the experts hang out. How about adding a little menthol to cool it off. Or some fruit- maybe apple?

To me, DIY juice really needs to steep. It might still be hot, but the soapy taste might go away.

I love cinnamon as well!!! I dont DIY so I cant really help you there. Cinnamon wont ruin your attys or cartos from my experience, its just a hard flavor to clean out of your attys. I found that soaking my attys in vodka overnight is a good way to get the cinnamon flavor out, as well for general cleaning of attys. Where you need to be careful with cinnamon is if you were to use it in a tank setup, cinnamon will crack the polycarbonate tubing most tanks on the market use.

That's a New one for me.

If you like Cinnamon you might try picking up a Bottle of Cinna-Bomb Flavoring from Vapor Bomb.

It's Very Good.

Flavoring

Like you mentioned, start with a Low % and work your way up. 20% of Cinna-Bomb will Melt Most Peoples Faces Off.

I have 2 e-cigs. I tried it with Vision Mod (It's square zebra striped) I had a little bit of peach flavor and just added some cinnamon juice on top of it, vaped that last night, then put some more cinnamon e-juice into it and after a while it started tasting like soap. I have a ego-t joy e-cig too. it happened with the low resistant cartomizer'ss (single coil) too. So I stayed away from cinnamon for a couple months. So, yesterday I was looking at my flavor drop's and had a little cinn. left, so I mixed up 10ml (with 20%flavor) which I then found out way too strong then delutited it down to 10%. So, I will check out the DYI. Thanks!

You really don't need a lot of equipment to DIY. You are already doing it, so you have what you need. Of course, if you want to keep doing it, you might want to pick up a few more supplies over time.... I haven't tried it yet, I've been getting some great sales on juices and have already re-ordered a few that I liked. I actually like mixing up the pre-made liquids. I do find that I only need a very tiny little bit of cinnamon and you can really taste it. Also, it will crack tanks.... bummer!

Welcome, have fun and enjoy the forums!

OK, for starters, who makes the cinnamon flavor? I use tpa red hots concentrate at 15%, but I rarely vape it straight. I used to do that, it was my favorite flavor. But that .... will burn your sense of taste FAST. When I have vaped it too long, I lose the ability to taste the cinnamon and begin to taste the other flavor undertones, which are not pleasant.

Red hots is a nice flavor to mix with, for that reason. Weakening it really takes away from its overall appeal for me, so rather than making a 10 % or 5% mix, I'll mix it with other bakery type flavors or fruit flavors after it steeps for a while. The flavor remains, and the other flavor masks the undertones that would come out when it is weaker. It also burns your tongue out far more slowly. Tip from experience: Don't get it on your skin, whatever you do. It burns. Badly.

On tanks.. you can get crack resistant ce2 and car to tanks, but with any ce2 you will find it eventually, or rapidly (depending on strength) will destroy your coil. Not just break it, it will oxidize it so severely that brown liquid will drip down into the tank. Not sure if it does the same to atties, but I haven't seen it happen. I'm guessing the cinnameldahyde in the flavor is reacting with the type of metal that the ce2 coils have.

Sounds to me like you blew your tastebuds out. Switch off to another flavor for a day and then go back to it. And above all else, drink tons of water. I find cinnamon vapes to be the most drying. I get really thirsty vaping mine.
