When I get the setup with it dialed in I can chain vape tanks with no wicking issues, but have had problems with the coil being both too tight and too loose. I try and make the coil more or less the same size as the wick hole, maybe ever so slightly smaller, as wrapping the coil around a Zatty insulator has seemed a little loose....
I also find that my draw technique changes notably on my Zattys depending on how they are set up....
With a stock setup (stock wick, insulator, 5/4 wrap 32g) my draw starts with a very slow mouth expansion which I focus on making come from inside the top cap, and then once I feel the the air "catch" the reaction at the coil I can increase my draw by pulling with my lungs... if I pull too fast at first it seems as though the air intake is bypassing the reaction to some extent and the hit is harsh. Once the air has caught the reaction though the draw has that great "springy" feel, where as I draw with more pressure, the resistance of the draw increases slightly.
With my cotton or readyx setup I use 26g or 28g microcoils between 1 and 1.5ohms, and if I start slowly with draw as above it seems as though the reaction at the coil is underfed air, and the hit is harsh, so I have to pull gently with my lungs from the beginning of the inhale. The "springiness" is still there but a little less noticeable.
Overall, I find the Zattys to be much more particular than other attys with either a very tight or very open draw, where just suck quickly has me covered, but also find Zattys most satisfying. My best vape experience across all setups always comes when I get into a flow state with the particular setup I'm vaping on and "just vape it". So "just vape it" is what I shoot for, but have noticed these differences and can get temporarily out of the flow, particularly as I switch from setup to setup.
