Morning, all!!!

Howling rainstorm here scared my "kitten"... she woke me up at 2:00AM crying and trying to get under the covers and bury her nose in my elbow (traditional hiding space for visits to the vet). I really should go back to bed soon...

I too vape a 100% VG juice, and a dark/sweet one at that (English toffee flavor). I find I have to take the ReadyX wick out and flame it - usually on my gas stove, since I STILL don't have a creme brulee torch - about once every two days, and I tend to redo the coil about once every two to three weeks. I personally still find it easier to deal with than SS, and the wick itself is two months old now and still going strong. Just burn it clean and it clears right up.

oh:facepalm: the new tighter draw cap maybe different but the tank will be the same:blink:

Hope you don't mind a question from someone just cruising through Zenland this morning to see what's new/happening. But - am I taking your comment out of context or is Zen re-introducing a tigher draw cap for the ZAU/ZAP/Zen mods?

No, they are the same draw (air-wise) in Z2. What is different is the tightness of the fit of the cap to the body; the Z2 top caps use a different o-ring and require much more force to remove (to prevent the "cap falls off" issue some have had). You can put a Z2 cap on a Z1 device, but you have to change the o-ring to a smaller thickness one; not sure the exact dimensions but it's definitely "skinnyer".

yeah i tip it just like SS mesh. When its wet i get about 4 good vapes then it dries up and i lay it down for 5 minutes then i can vape again. IDK. I will try to torch it first. =)

I find to make a perfect coil I place the cut ready wick in the zen atty. then stick the syringe tip through the middle of it, then snuggly wrap my coil around it then remove the tip of syringe, never too tight or too loose and i have 0 wicking problems. I actually have to tip it less than with ss mesh. And i never torched my ready wick seeing as how its been heat treated for 12 hours at 1900 degrees

My GM top cap fit on my ZAP 2.1 just fine but I'm not absolutely sure the dimensions on the original ZAP or ZAU are the same.

Matt, it will depend on which top cap you currently have. Take a look at the inside of your cap. If it is ground out a little at the base of it then you will need the same size o-ring as the tank O-rings to use the Zen 2 top cap. If the one you have now is flush all the way thru then you'll be good to go.

Yeah I tried all my orings i had and finally got one that worked. And the HOH sweet drip tip was actually another order on the way... My mistake hehe :p

Ok guys, i see a ton of you using the ReadyxWick. I have some and HATE IT. It wicks sooooooooo slow. Am i doing something wrong? 50/50 juice or 40/60 juice still not wicking good at all.

When I get the setup with it dialed in I can chain vape tanks with no wicking issues, but have had problems with the coil being both too tight and too loose. I try and make the coil more or less the same size as the wick hole, maybe ever so slightly smaller, as wrapping the coil around a Zatty insulator has seemed a little loose....

I try and make the coil more or less the same size as the wick hole, maybe ever so slightly smaller, as wrapping the coil around a Zatty insulator has seemed a little loose....

I also find that my draw technique changes notably on my Zattys depending on how they are set up....

With a stock setup (stock wick, insulator, 5/4 wrap 32g) my draw starts with a very slow mouth expansion which I focus on making come from inside the top cap, and then once I feel the the air "catch" the reaction at the coil I can increase my draw by pulling with my lungs... if I pull too fast at first it seems as though the air intake is bypassing the reaction to some extent and the hit is harsh. Once the air has caught the reaction though the draw has that great "springy" feel, where as I draw with more pressure, the resistance of the draw increases slightly.

With my cotton or readyx setup I use 26g or 28g microcoils between 1 and 1.5ohms, and if I start slowly with draw as above it seems as though the reaction at the coil is underfed air, and the hit is harsh, so I have to pull gently with my lungs from the beginning of the inhale. The "springiness" is still there but a little less noticeable.

Overall, I find the Zattys to be much more particular than other attys with either a very tight or very open draw, where just suck quickly has me covered, but also find Zattys most satisfying. My best vape experience across all setups always comes when I get into a flow state with the particular setup I'm vaping on and "just vape it". So "just vape it" is what I shoot for, but have noticed these differences and can get temporarily out of the flow, particularly as I switch from setup to setup.

Are you using the insulator with the ReadyXWick? You don't need to if you are. The easiest way that I have found to wrap a coil with the ReadyXWick is to slide a 18ga blunt tip needle thru it, wrap the coil, remove needle and insert wick into atomizer, then slide the needle or large paper clip back thru it to stiffen while attaching the leads. This has worked flawlessly for me every time.

This way works for me also....chain vape my .... off if i want to. I cant understand how people are having problems with this readyxwick.
