Too late... if Zen~s extracting sinew (i.e. muscle connective tissue) from the unicorn for the standard minimum order of 10,000 springs, I suspect the unicorn in question is already seriously stressed.
Evening, everyone!
Battoning down the hatches for a bit of slow-moving storm here... looks like we are finally going to experience a handful of rain systems for the first time in 2 or 3 years. The local news stations are going all hyperbolic (not in the mathmatical way) over this, because we here in Mid-Coast CA have not had any major natural disaster events in quite some time.
But, seriously... "...this could be our Katrina..."
It's...a...rain...storm.
Oh, dear, someone might get wet. There might even be FLOODING... of storm drains, or in an extreme instance, maybe 2.5" for 2 hours in someone's house in the Santa Cruz hills, which can be cleaned out by a few hours of blowing large fans and judicious application of Tylex. I, personally, anticipate the horrific plummeting of billions of liquid amber tree leaves and "monkey-ball" seed pods, and a weekend of cleaning that crap up.
(Stupid city-owned trees we can't get rid of without a court order...)
Even in 1983, when we had a series of huge rainstorms that resulted in 30 something people killed by mudslides and treefalls (or even 1989 with 60-odd killed during the earthquake) compares to actual hurricane damage - one reason I'd never live on the East coast. I'm always astonished by people who live there wondering how I can deal with once-in-a-lifetime large quakes, given what they go through practically every year.
I wish the TV news people would be more realistic....
Oh, well. I'm to bed tonight after finally catching up!![]()
