+ 1,000,000 on this one...
Battery cases are an absolute must. Dirt cheap, and there's nothing worse than risking dead shorting a loose battery in pocket, etc...

It's better to get one of those little battery cases and carry a couple of spares than to risk it in my opinion.

Hmmm. It looks like the Zen thread at VW is gone. I guess they didn't like my reply to the whining and then subsequent rebuttals from the whiners

I meant to go have a look-see, too late now.
You know.... If Mike chooses to not go there and asks for his threads to be closed that's one thing.

But to take away because he had some trouble?
If that's what happened.

I see posts over there about members supporting "modders" all the time, but they can't support Mike when he runs into something?
I'm sooo tired of the whiners.
They don't want to hear, "well this happened and when that was straightened out, this other came along".
Some things are just out of a person's control.

are you chain vaping or is the wick touching the bottom? you might want to try that first. Also if your coil is too tight, you may not be allowing juice to wick. If that doesn't work, you could try a fat wick, but if you already have a three wrap, you are probably going to go to low, as you would need less wraps with a fatter wick

Hey,

I keep getting a dry (burnt) hit... using the stock wick that came with the ASH II, should I try rolling a fatty wick and remove the insulator ring and see if that help or what?

3/4 32g wrap btw

my gf was complaining of the same thing and turned out to be a short.... what happened was she had it in her pocket and the top cap came off and mangled the coil, but only bad enough to give her intermittent shorts, it turned out it also mangled the wick unrepairably as well so i mcguyvered it for her to go to work w/ it but gonna have to roll her a new one tonight.

Im trying to chain vape but sometimes it on the first hit... wick is pretty loose and not touching bottom

check pos and neg screws, unscrew em out and back in again, could be a burr in there somewhere also make sure that youre using an insulator and wick is not touching the side or bottom, if not using an insulator make sure that the wick is oxidised very well.

what ppl dont realise is (i have put these on a fluke meter) the wicks even when theyre fully oxidised to the max, will still carry some current through them, they are metal after all, and there is nothing that can be done to stop that, which is why mike puts insulators in his devices, you can use them w/out the insulators but you are going to bleed some current through the device.

DaFish, I'd first try tilting your ASH a little more first. Say at the 3:00 o'clock position.

that helps, obviously is not wicking that well... I am using this new wick from the bag atm, maybe I will give this one a little time

Edit: she is doing better
