rounding third and heading home...
Well it should matter to you that the vendor you have your preorder with has been sued. If that case ends against them, they could disappear real quick with your money.

apparently it is a $70 gamble quite a few people are willing to make. and name one case where a lawsuit shut down a vendor and those in a pre-order lost their money....not easy to do is it? not saying it's right just saying it is....

Even if they did try to run off with my money a quick call to my credit card company would solve that. Tho I highly doubt I'll have an issue. Purchased from the numerous times without issue and they've been in contact with me about the status of my preorder.

Well ... where would the money come from to refund them? You could do a CC chargeback, but the debit payers are SOL, and chargebacks aren't always guaranteed in the event of a business going under. Deposits are lost in bankruptcies and closures all the time.

Well, it's not a question of if, if they go, the money goes. Then it's between your CC company and a bank.

Purchased from the numerous times without issue and they've been in contact with me about the status of my preorder.

This really means nothing, if they go under, none of this will make any difference.

If you follow the train of thought that you shouldn't buy from companies getting sued because they may run away with your money that's a a whole lot of companies never to buy from. Just sayin.

That depends on the nature of the suit, their likelihood of survival, and your risk exosure. Given that they are being sued for a substantial part of their business, their survival is questionable, and your risk exposure is higher due to the long time period between payment and shipping, it's not as safe as say, buying a value meal from Mcdonald's.

So you sit there and ask yourself/search whether or not someone is being sued, why and how that will effect you everytime you buy something? Id hate to go shopping with you. :p

When I make a preorder, the liabilities of the entity managing the preorder are a consideration. I'd be a dummy if they weren't.
I certainly won't give preorder money to just anyone, and definitely not someone who had issues pending from a previous preorder, let alone a lawsuit.

You can do the right thing - sort of.

Buy a clone Hana box and use a real DNA board, it's what I did and it works a treat.
The Chinese DNA boards are 'patchy' at best.

I intend to do the same with the Zen clone if possible - remove the board and replace it with a real one.

Thats what I may do aswell. Have to see how the clone board performs first tho. I already have a DNA board I had planned on using for a custom pv, but I been procrastinating. Lol

I noticed that focal has these up for sale already. I'm probably going to wait on some reviews first, but MAN am I tempted to go ahead and pull the trigger! I've always really dug the looks of the ZNA but no way could I ever afford a real one. This clone could easily be a pretty box of crap so I'm trying really hard to be patient and let someone else do the guinea pigging.....
btw, the price on it is $74.....

Original uses 18490 button tops with the option of swapping the tube out so you could use an 18650 button top. The tube would extend a bit past the base in 18650 mode. Flat tops do not work without modding the device.

The clone uses 18490/18500 button or flat tops with the option to swap out the tube to use with 18650 button/flat tops. Bottom will still stick out in 18650 mode.

Example photo of original with 18650 tube.

Looking on the focal site it says that it uses 18500 battery, is the original the same? I assumed it would be an 18650.

The Authentic ZNA comes with a 18500 tube which is the same length as the body. Any Zen Z2 threaded tube can be used also but doesn't come with it.

It looks like the clone on the Focal site also comes with a 18500 tube and if it uses Z2 threading....which I don't see why it wouldn't seeing as Zen openly sources the treading information then you would also be able to purchase a Z2 threaded tube like linked below to use 18650. I'm not sure if they've cloned 18650 tubes yet, if not it'll probably be soon enough.

As long as the delrin plate is removable then it'll be great - that's if this isn't the Wotofo version because it has a Yihi chip which I'll leave.

If not the the chip comes out and gets replaced with an Evolv - then you've got a Zen for less than $75.
Obviously it's not going to be very good if the machining is pants but from what I've seen so far these look almost nicer than the real one.

If it's the Wotofo then it has a Yihi chip - no replacement necessary because they're as good the Evolv.

This is true. :D
The way its looking (won't know for sure till they are in peoples hands that can do a side by side), if its a Wotofo, it MAY actually be a slight improvement over the original.
