On a rock floating through space
I'm looking at the sigelei zmax v5 as a replacement for my dying smok zmax ss.
I'm curious what those who have it think of it?
I hear its essentially the same internals as what I have now with a telescoping body and a better screen. Is this true?
How rugged is it? Is the top press fit so it comes loose if you knock the tank? (like my smok zmax)
How is the switch?
In 18650 mode how does the size compare with an old style zmax?
thanks for any input

I have a Z-Max V3 and it is essentially the same as the V5 except the V5 can charge your phone/electronics. I picked the Sigelei over the SMOKTECH because it was reported to be sturdier. I have to say it has held up extremely well. I have dropped it, it has rolled down my stairs (not on purpose though!) and it still working beautifully with minimal damage. I usually carry it in my purse or in my pocket and I have never had any issues with the top coming loose or connection loss. It's really a solid little piece of machinery. I only use it is 18650 mode and it is about 4 and 3/4 in long without a tank or clearomizer. The button is plastic and aesthetically it would look much sleeker in metal, however I have never had an issue with the button firing when I want it to. I am happy that I did spend the extra money on the Sigelei version of the Z-Max versus the SMOKTECH Z-Max. If I ever do need to replace it, I will buy another Sigelei.

The Sigelei Zmax V3 and V5 Telescopic Flat Tops look the same until the display is lit.

V5 has the following features not found on V3: a different OLED display that shows a charged battery symbol and puff counter, nine menu selections instead of eight (#9 controls the cell phone charger), and an accessory cell phone charger that attaches to the 510/eGo connector. Power ratings and all other electronic specs are identical to V3. Both V3 and V5 are currently in production.
