Can someone help this person with some advice?

They have had their stuff confiscated at the border and are asking for advice.

Could someone please nip over there and help them out?

I haven't had anything get stuck at customs yet, so I'm not the best person to answer this question.

I wish I had some experience with this (but thankfully I don't) so I could try to help.

Confiscated ecig items fall into 2 categories.

1) without nicotine contents - you can contact canada customs and usually reason with them. they are not supposed to hold this stuff - but they often will. a few phone calls will generally clear the matter up.

2) with nicotine contents - canada customs has a directive from health canada to hold anything with nicotine and deny entry. customs does what they are told in that regard. you can take it to court - but that's about it. unless the package was worth taking to court - it's not going to be much use and it could take up to a year for a judge to hear the case. a judge will go strickly by the law - and not by a health canada directive - so the goods would be released. (this is the basic wording via a lawyer).
