I added some of the menthol crystals that I bought from DIY, but they aren't dissolving in the VG. They are just floating around in the VG. Is that normal? I"m trying to make a strong menthol flavor, and I put a bunch of crystals in. Help please!

you can put it in the microwave for like 5 seconds or so. I usually make up a bottle of menthol liquid separately and mix some in.
Oh, you have to cook it? I didn't know that. Will it eventually dissolve if I don't cook it?
I am guessing you are mixing just menthol crystals and VG, no nic, flavoring pg etc.
I can say from experience that mine do melt very fast by themselves with a bit of swirling in a nic based juice, a bit longer if I just let them sit and do not swirl it around. (a few mins and it is done)
But 5 seconds (or so depending on the power) in a microwave is one method, as well as sitting the bottle in hot water for a little while in the event your crystals are not dissolving in your liquid.
Another possibility would be to put them in an empty bottle, add a little alcohol (vodka or some other clear type preferably) to disolve them, then add your vg etc. If you only are using a few crystals then just a few drops of alcohol should do the job here.
I dont know if they will melt in plain vg over time or not as I never tried, all my juice has nic in it which I am fairly sure assists in disolving the crystals.

Also tossing a tiny crystal into a flavored liquid can "brighten" it up a lot as well. You might be suprised at the affect this can have, just remember for this use a lil goes a long way!

I've been using it for my base since I started vaping....
You don't need to "cook" it. You can hold the bottle of the mixture under hot tapwater from your faucet, let it get hot, shake, repeat. It also is a lot easier if you pulverize the crystals first. I put mine in a baggie (doubled-up) and used a rolling pin to crush em.
