Do the authentic Subtank coils have the "red ring"?

Hey guys, I bought the Subtank Nano and loved it with the packaged coils.

I bought back-up coils that had a white insulator instead of the red, and the first one I popped in gave me such a severe sore on my tongue that I can barely talk. Both of them I've bought have really made it so bad and the flavor isn't good either.

I think they're clones that really have some bad coil material or something, but I can't tell... do the authentic ones have the red insulator?

Thank you!

Never heard of such. Maybe the particular coil was miss assembled. Some no-name coils are poorly made, but they are still the same basic materials. Don't see how the replacement caused the sore on your tongue.

Hi guys,

Just wanted to revisit this and see if there had been any further info come to light.

I've got stock OCC coils. Some have red insulator plugs and some have white. I currently have a red 0.5ohm which works well, and the two white ones (1.2 & 0.5 ohms) both seem to be performing a little worse (dry hits & poor wicking, burning wicks maybe?). I get a nasty burned taste in the back of my throat - not sure if that is how to describe a dry hit or if I am actually burning something.

Does anyone know if there has been a revision to these OCC coils? Are the red ones new and improved (over the white)?

Thanks a lot for any help.

After doing some check I am waiting for a reply from Kangertech I have a odd feeling the red ring .5's are clones as I can't see why my flavor has dropped so much with the new batch of coils I got
You beat me to it I was going to suggest the OP email Kanger. Good job go straight to the source.

Hi mate,

I received red coils with my Subtank Nano a few weeks back. According to the security check... My Subtank is legit. I guess that means the coils are too?

I just got home and have 2 packs of coils from the same store go figure one pack is red the other is white.
Both packs authorize on the web site.
I have replaced the red one with the white same juice same tank will report back after I check the flavor and hear a response from Kanger.
Maybe I've just been getting use to my Arctic and the Atlantis as of late as the Atlantis with the Melo coils is just rocking it.

Update
Flavor check the white ones seem to taste better so I'm curious what Kangertech's response is.
