Can't Get an Ounce of Throat Hit on My RDA!

Hello.

I am new here and, I just wanted to ask some tips and advice on my rda.

I am new to mechanical mods and RDAs, but I managed to build some-what so-so coil builds using organic cottons, and for the first 2 weeks, it was fine.

But recently, I received my new RDA, so I setup a coil and wick, and was having a good time vaping until recently, where I couldn't get a single ounce of throat hit as well as taste, just a lot of vapor. This was frustrating me to no end, so I went back to my first RDA and for some reason, same thing. No throat hit or taste, just lot of clouds.

I have heard that I need to twist the cap on the RDA to align the airhole next to my coils, but no matter how many time times I twist it to every degree possible, I can't get the strong throat hit I once had before.

I would EXTREMELY appreciate it if someone can help me out here so that I can get my throat hit fix.

Welcome to ECF ar7k! My experiences with RBA's is limited but will ask, what pg/vg ratio are you using, also what is the nic level?
You might want to give more info on your build such as, what ohm is your build, dual or single coils, and what device you are using with your RBA.

There are a couple of variables that affect TH. Higher PG, Higher heat (lower ohms) and higher nicotine content. Increase any one and you will get more TH.

Not experiencing any flavor is what is termed "Vapor's Tongue". Most beginners experience this. Your taste buds have essentially gotten used to the flavor you are vaping and are "immune" to it. It will subside with time. I experienced it for a couple of days after I started vaping but don't anymore. Although I do vape different flavors throughout the day to try and avoid it.

I am using 6 mg juices, don't know about pg/vg ratio. Setup is at 0.5 ohm, dual coil, and I am using a Stingray X clone mod and the IPV50 box mod.

I am perplexed as I was using these before weeks ago and I was vaping great, but now, I am still using the same devices, same setup, same juice, but with poor results.

Have you rechecked your atty's resistance since you made it? It's possible that the coil has changed resistance since it was made (gunked up coils from e-juice, a loose post screw, etc).

The air hole should be directly in front of the coil. You can try gently raising the coil a bit as this can increase TH. Lowering coil can decrease TH. After moving coil, re-check post screws to make sure they are still tight.

Resistance seems about the same, at least according to the ohm meter. Screws are also tight and no looseness can be found. I did some dry hits to burn off all the gunk before setting up new wicks.

I'm thinking of just trying to setup some new coils and wicks, but I'm not entirely sure if that'll fix it.

You might try a different flavor if you have another, to see if it makes a difference.

I'm just wondering how long it's gonna take till I'm not choking on my rda!!
