Cloud chasing while keeping the vape cool

I'm currently running a dual coil build with 24 gauge kanthal 8 wraps each coil 3 mm ID .5 ohms. I have a sig 75 and would love to run this sucker up to 75 watts, but anything above about 50 watts is piping hot!

I currently considering running dual coil 22 gauge at 3.5mm ID 8 wraps, which would safely run in my sig 75 (.1 ohm minimum for kanthal).

Ive run a dual coil setup in a royal hunter but right now I'm getting the best (coolest) production from a mutation x V4, so I think I'm going to stick with that for now.

Does anyone have any further tips for achieving my goal, or input on my planned path forward?

What rda are you using? Could be you need more airflow. Using stream engine your 24 ga build should be a rather cool vape. In fact at 75 watts it should only be a warm vape not piping hot.

I've run my 24 gauge .5 ohm build on a royal Hunter and currently on a mutation x V4. The RH has a rep for the drip tip getting really hot. I also hate the honeycomb meant to prevent spitback.

But I digress, even without the spitback honeycomb of the RH, with the mutation x v4 it's still a pretty hot vape.

It may be partially my background, this is for cloud chucking at home. Normally I run a single coil in a Sapor at about 17 watts for taking to work.

You should have gotten a plastic extension piece with your mutation x v4. Screw that on, screw that top piece back on, and it really cools down the vape. I'm at 60 watts on my MXV4 on a 0.25ohm build and it's only a little warm with that extension on.

They make really long drip tips- like 8 inch, or get some PVC tubing which fits snug over the drip tip and cut to desired length...

I bet you are using a 22mm dripper.

Get a 30mm dripper.

TFV4 will run cool at 85w and handle up to 140w...............and it's just a tank.

Airflow is the key. I'm running my Aromamizer at 60W and its a cool vape. If I tried that with some other tank like the Gus Estia, I'm quite sure it would burn my mouth.

Or you can try N80 wire. It is more susceptible to cooling from airflow. It's lower resistance and heats up faster too. You can add more wraps for surface area and bigger clouds and keep the same resistance. And the airflow on your mutation should be plenty to keep it cool.

Do you have a picture of how you attached the plastic add on? I found it but it appears to have threading, and the metal portion of my mutation does not appear to have matching threading.
