Hi everyone im krissie. Im new to ecigs and hoping I can get some help. I recently purchased the blu ecigs starter kit and what a complete joke for starters but im not willing to give up there. I usually smoke about 1 1/2 to 2 packs a day. I actually smoke sonoma reds because they seem stronger. Well the problem I have had with trying to find an ecig that will work for me is I don't know which strength I need. I tried calling local stores to see what they had in disposables but they are clueless. I recently found out that the blu is roughly 13-16 mg and I have to hir those really hard and a lot but when im done I still want to light up because it doesn't seem to fulfill my craving. Ive read where some people just mix their own and tbh im not ready for that quite yet. I do need something convenient. I have been looking at the vapor couture. I love the way they look and they have a higher nicotine level but not by much 18mg. But no way of sampling them first. They do have a 30 day guarantee. Anyway if any of you have tried those or can help with any advice I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for your time.

Hi Krissi

I started with the Vapor Couture...I like them because I can refill the cartridges. VC doesn't sell cartridges for them, but you can get them from 777 ecigs in their Ladies signature line. I ended up getting a starter kit from both vendors so I could mix&match, and have used them for about 2 months now.

I've read here that it helps to start at a bit higher nic level as ecigs deliver nic differently than analogs. I'm sure some of the more knowledgeable folks will chime in.

I've just ordered a Bullet from 777, so I'm taking a baby step into the tank world.

From what I've heard and read, blu is pretty terrible - low quality and difficult to enjoy. I've not tried it myself, though. I can tell you that I quit smoking analogs the day I got my joyetech ego-c starter kit. Its very simple to use and the starter kit comes with lots of replacements. You just have to order juice separate. There are so many different juice options, its a bit overwhelming; however, you should be fine with 24mg or 32mg nicotine. Flavor is a matter of personal preference, but I just ordered coffee and a tobacco blend. I found out quickly that I wasn't so attached to the taste of cigarette and could easily switch to more appetizing flavors.
I wish you luck in finding an enjoyable alternative to analogs. The search is definitely worth it! Given the many different options available, I'm sure you'll find the one that is right for you, with a little research and experimentation.

Thank you everyone for the quick replies. I will say most of what was said was a bit foreign to me but as it was mentioned with some research I'm sure to get the hang of it. I'm going to just have to go look myself for some disposables in the 18mg 24mg and 32mg <--never knew that was an option so thanks for that. If they taste terrible I'll deal with it. I just need to figure out where I am with the strength before investing into another product. Thx for mentioning the "pen size ecig" kc because that cld pose a problem as well for me too. And that wld immediately rule out vapor couture as much as want them lol. Thanks for the input on vapor couture wallelf. Again thanks for welcoming me and the input. I will keep you all posted on my ecig journey lol.

Hi Krissie,

Welcome to vaping! This has been the only thing that has helped me get off the analogs (cigarettes) and I've tried just about everything. Anyway, what I found in my own personal experience is that the auto type ecig such as you have, really didn't do it for me. Much like yourself I didn't find them satisfying enough although I did like the idea. This place is a very good place to learn more about vaping but I'm sure you are probably overwhelmed with information right now. I could go on and on about my personal perferences and experiences but instead I'll just cut to the chase and recomend that you get a better PV (Personal Vaporizer). I feel the Ego type devices are the minimum that I could recomend. In fact, here is a link to a relatively inexpensive starter kit that I feel is a fair value for a decent device: eGo 650mAh w/ CE4 Clearomizer Blister Pack Starter Kit - MyFreedomSmokes.com

Personally, I'd return the blu cig and spend the money on a ego type device and some decent ejuice. There are tons of sites that offer ejuice for sale and in flavors you've never even dreamed of before! :) The site I included above has some good juice as well but they are just one of many. In the future you may wish to start mixing up some of your own but maybe we should leave that for another topic. :)

I hope this helps somewhat. As mentioned, it's just my opinion but frankly I doubt I would be smokefree today if I all I had to use was an auto battery ecig ... The nice thing about the Ego devices are that there are a ton of different options that you can use with them and I'm sure you will want to experiment at some point.

Feel free to ask questions! We all started at the same place you are right now! I've actually been lurking on these forums for years but just recently decided to try and contribute to all the knowledge that's being shared here.

Again, welcome to vaping and hopefully an end to your analog habit! :)

i would like to suggest mister e-liquid. i'm trying their Banana dream (no diacetyl) and its beautiful. no artificial banana taste, it tastes like vaping those dried banana chips lol. natural. i think 18 or 24mg would be a start for you. but don't buy too much because u might find it too strong. When we smoke cigs, a lot of it is lost side stream between drags. when we vape, we get more of it or all of it so i notice i'm getting more nicotine now than when i smoked. esp w/ yummy e-liq like this. i'm down to 6mg to 12mg juice and happy

Thank you NGAHaze. lol the info is overwhelming but good. I've briefly read before about doing it yourself but then it just went into all of this with mixing this and that...and I forgot about it. So from that I determined that I wanted something more convenient. But that kit didn't seem bad. I obviously need to read up on it more. But from the responses I'm sure I'll be right there with you all mixing my own because I'm starting to think these convenient ones are a waste lol.

Hi krissie, welcome to the forum!

I have been using a "pen style" or cig-a-like for about 10 days now with no regrets. I think that it's down to whatever works for you.

For me, I started on the Blu disposables but like you, never really felt like it took away the craving for analogs. For me, there was just "something" missing that I couldn't put my finger on. One thing I knew was that they were too long, too big around, and too heavy for me to really feel like I was smoking a cigarette.

For me right now, the larger tanks and PV's remind me of a woman's sex toy  (I sooo apologize to everyone who's moved on from cig-a-likes for this comment!) so for me it would be a hindrance to quitting.

Some people here want to get as far away from the analog experience as possible to dis-associate themselves with smoking. I myself, at least at this point in time, am the exact opposite. I wanted as close to an analog experience as I could get. I enjoyed smoking and so I didn't want to give up anything except the nasty crap that's in cigarettes.

I smoked about the same amount as you (a PAD for me), Camel Filters. I'm currently mixing an 18 and 24 mg juice and vaping about like I would smoke, although in the evenings I'm vaping a lot more than I smoked. The mix has been perfect for me and I will soon probably move down to 18mg.

I'm using an eRoll kit which fits my small hands and mouth (I'm only 5'2") and I have been perfectly satisfied. Once I got my eRoll I haven't really looked back.

I guess my point is, there is something out there for everyone, and I wouldn't assume that you will only have a satisfying experience if you don't use a cigarette-sized tank. As long as it works for you that's what counts! And who knows, in a few months I might get over my Freudian hangup with the larger PV's. :p

I just checked out the 777 ecigs. I do like their ladies signature line. The strengths only go up to 12mg I think. I'm sorry if this sounds stupid, but do you know if I could choose any of their flavors offered to use with the batteries they offer?
