How to incorporate passthrough feature in a DIY mod???

I'm planning on building a simple Altoid tin box mod, which consists of a single 18650 connected to a 510 connector and a momentary push button. I'm considering incorporating a micro-usb passthrough feature to this mod as well. What is the best way that I would go about this? I've seen the micro-usb chips offered with the dna 30 Evolv chips, but I do not want to build a DNA30/20 mod, I just want it to have a passthrough feature.

You could buy evolv's USB charge chip for $10.

Not true pass through but you could vape while you charge.
