One side would have to touch the inner wall, correct? So the other side would need to not touch?

I meant touching in 2 places.

Make your wraps close together as well. Wash everything thoroughly after every build.

Ok, last question! After I wash can I dry burn to dry the wick or just dry with a paper towel and fill it up? Or does it need to sit overnight to dry?

I dry burn all the time. Remember to blow on it to keep the coil from getting too hot and burn the wick, and watch it carefully.
