ohm meter acting weird?

i am not sure if this is the appropriate forum, but my ohm meter seems to be reading high. i have 3 wraps of 28 awg triple parallel that puts out a scary amount of power, but it is only reading .3 ohms. is this right? it seems to be a LOT of power for .3

3 wraps on what? The inner diameter of the coil?

Have you checked the internal resistance of your multimeter? Are you using a mulitmeter or the little box you screw the atty on?

its a box, made for atomizers, my multimeter isnt precise enough. 3 wraps of triple parallel, wrapped around a 2.5mm? screwdriver

.3 sounds a little high to me too. I'm thinking 5 wraps would be closer to .3

I would try the multimeter. Touch the positive and negative leads together and that will give you the internal resistance of the meter. Deduct that from what it says your coil is. I don't like those boxes. But that's just me.

Methinks you're closer to .2 ohms. If so, you're pulling 21 amps from your battery. What battery are you using?

hmmm 28ga. 3 wraps on a 2.5 mm dia @ 3 coils parallel comes in at .262 ohms pulling 16A @ 67W

I never go that low but damn there is a big jump in amps from .2 to .262!

I know mine acts weird with even the slightest bit of dirt on the threads on the reader/atty. Food for thought.

ill try cleaning it... i thought it would be more like .2 ohms i couldnt deal with that low it was too hot for me. i'll see if i can fix it now i added another wrap and its reading .54 ohms which still seems high but oh well
im using efest 30&35a batteries i know there are some disputes on them but i bought what i bought

Never hurts to try a new battery in the ohm meter. Make sure you screw your topper down all the way on the meter.

those 35 amp efest batteries only have a 20 amp continuous rating..

just fyi, continuous rating doesn't apply to the 3-15 second range

is this your first parallel-coil build? they get hot much faster than other arrangements
