ohm meter help

Yes I could probably search and find what I'm looking for but I need 5 posts. But if anyone could help. I just wana know if there's a way to see if you ohm meter is messed up? Mine just showed a coil at 1.5 ohms turn off and back on and the ohms get lower and lower every time I turn the meter on and off. Any ideas to what I'm possibly doing wrong?

Obviously, you can't put it on a mod that fires it to measure resistance, but on a meter it will be fine.

A varying resistance can be a sign that your build is dodgy -- not connected firmly to the terminals or shorting to metalwork somewhere.

Exactly what rurwin said!
Get a resistor of known value. Your meter should read that value +/- whatever your meter's tolerance level is... (probably around 0.2 ohms or so, maybe less depending on the meter)

Always make sure to have as accurate meter as you can. If your current meter is .4 off. You are gonna run into problems if you want to sub.ohm.

You didn't mention what meter but the 510 box ohm readers are notorious for damaged center pin isolators from over tightening.

Have you checked the batteries in the ohm reader to make sure they are still good and making good contact in their holders?

Hey the meter came in a box that say atomizer ohm meter no brand or anything And the inside looks really shisty any suggestions for a new better one? I really only do sub ohm builds. As that's what I first started with but any suggestions would be great thanks
