Opposite Experience with PG/VG ?

Hey all, has anyone else had this experience:

I purchased some PG recently from local pharmacy who was nice enough to order some in for me.

I tried mixing up some butter flavor like I have several times with VG.

PG + Dist Water + flavor.

It tasted quite a bit sweeter to me (unexpected), quite a bit less vapor (expected), a bit less flavor (very unexpected) and really no throat hit at all (also unexpected)

Mixed 50/50 PG/VG + DW + usual amount of flavor: same as above, but returned to great vapor.

Mixed 30/70 PG/VG + same: much better flavor, great vapor, still no throat hit.

Tried Vodka instead of DW: no difference.

Any ideas?

And this is compared to a mix of 100% VG/DW base + flavor?

Sweeter is really unexpected, as is a diminished throat hit.

You get a throat hit with VG base + butter flavor?

Ah - no I should have specified that first.

I do not get really any throat hit to speak of with my VG + DW + flavor mixtures. Which is why I decided to purchase some PG because I had read on here in many places that PG provided some Throat Hit. - Also I've noticed that PG is used in almost ALL of my flavors and purchased juice.

So... I was hoping if I could just re-create a decent throat hit I could completely cut out my nicotene because as it stands I can go for a couple of days without nic juice but I do start getting shaky after a while and a few hits later I'm just fine.

I dislike menthol -> but I also read about Grain alchohol, everclear, etc. - just isn't working very well. I'm wondering if there is just a certain mix level I'm not hitting.

I'm hoping that a good throat hit might be enough psychologically to go ahead and kick the nic

Have you thought of trying ginger flavoring to generate a throat hit?
Ginger has a certain "bite" to it, as I discovered when drinking ginger beer.

I might start with a base of 90% VG + 10% Everclear then begin slowly adding increasing amounts of ginger oil.

Cinnamon might be worth investigating too.

No I had not considered Ginger - I will have to order some and give that a try. In meantime I hate to waste a pint of PG ... grf - will try some different stoof with what I have.

Anise flavor hits well, but hangs around forever. lol

I don't use water, just pg and vg
