Just ordered a Vamo V2 and a Kanger EVOD. Will I need an adapter to use the EVOD on the V2? The site in Texas I ordered from didn't say anything about needing an adapter. Watched Baditude's review on the Vamo V2 and figured I had to get one to use at home and use my EGOs when I'm running around.

It will work just fine without an adapter. The vamo v2 has ego and 510 threads. Congrats on your purchase.
Yes you need an adapter. Even though the VAMO has eGo threading, the recess is not deep enough to screw the eVod all the way. And even if you could, there is no airpath. And yes, i have both and just tested it right now.
I got a stainless steel one from a Texas dealer for $58 with batteries and charger. The same setup from China would have been $53. I'm hoping the Texas deal will get here in 2 or 3 days. I've had some problems in the past on slow shipping out of China. I think I will end up ordering the $27 body out of China to have as a backup besides my EGOs.
Kanj, Thanks for the info. In searching I have found 2 different adapters, a male 510 to EGO and a male 510 to female 510. Do you know which one I will need or is it a different adapter?
What site has the Texas deal? I've been considering getting one from Fasttech for $29, but if the difference is that small, it would be worth it to get it faster.
I can put together a kit with SS VAMO, charger and 4 Panasonic high quality 18650s for $40 from China.
I have been using this setup without an adapter. I have been drilling out one of the air holes on the evods for better airflow but not just for use on the vamo. They worked ok without doing this.
Have you tried it without drilling or just speculating?

Yes I used the Evods on the vamo for a few weeks before drilling out one of the air holes (this is a great modification by the way, regardless of battery). The draw was a little tighter than I liked but it wasn't terrible.
Then you have a different eVod (or possibly VAMO) than i do. Even so, an adapter is a much safer bet for a newbie; $3 to get rid of the risk of a new setup not working.
An adapter would probably work fine but it will make the setup much taller than it already is. I say do whatever works best for you.
My Vamo V2 is taller by 1/2 inch using the 510-eGo adapter and a few other sleeves I had lying around. I like the way it looks and it will make one heck of a billy-club.
I used 2 different Evods on my Vamo without adapters or modifications, worked fine. I DID buy an adapter though because if the Evod is screwed to the connector too tightly you risk unscrewing the tank from the base when trying to remove it from the Vamo, not a good thing. I don't enjoy e-liquid dribbling all over the top of my mod and flesh when changing tanks.
Bingo! Airflow works fine for me, albeit a tighter draw. The biggest problem is the recess doesn't allow you to hold the EVOD by its base while unscrewing, so u end up unscrewing the tank from the base instead. I'm getting an adapter, or using only my KPTs or Novis on the Vamo.
