serious vivi nova upgrade?

I have been a fan of the vivi nova since it came out. I then read about hot leg issues because they didnt use nonresistance wire after the coil on the vivi. Finally got some spare time, and installed a new coil/wick with nonres wire and wow ... What a difference. Massive hot leg issues before, none now (This is on a specific head I have, not all of them)

Is anyone else using this setup? Know of any other quick mods for the vivi?

I've only rebuilt one coil on the nova. Still confused about the whole leg deal lol. I don't vape at high voltage so I'm guessing hot legs isn't an issue for me.

I'm still working on rebuilding them. My manual dexterity sucks, so working with small stuff like that is a pain in the .... I've only tried doing it a few times so far and will get the hang of it eventually.

I understand and know how everything should be, it's just doing it that's the issue. It doesn't help that I usually have a bunch of beer in me when I decide to try it.

I just started rebuiling them wit 32 awg rw..and ce 2 style long wicks and all i can say is WOW the difference is like night and day!!!!

The last several heads I have gone through came with non resistance wire legs. I think they have been doing this for a while now. If you take them apart you can see where it is soldered together.

I've rebuilt them using 34ga NiCr wire. I double the wire from wick to pin to prevent hotlegs.

What version? I think the stock 2.5 heads now have NR wire on em.

Another popular mod that I know of is to use cotton wicks instead of the silca wicks. Look for user TomCatt and see his cotton wick info.

Also you may wish to check the modder's section. I think they have converted one into a houseboat by now.
