Not to insult you intelligence, but gotta ask. Is your button rotated to the ON position?
Been using mine with a Kick for over a year with no issues at all. Solid lil' unit.
Just looking at the design of it I would take the switch apart to check that it is deflecting the spring at the top and making contact as it should.
First, we would need to know Which version.
V1 had several areas that needed addressing.
Top 510 brass ring losing contact to SS - some type of coating on the SS - Dremmel Wire wheel works wonders.
Bottom Spring needed to be replaces with a decent Hot spring - Horrible V-drop issues.
Top cap battery pin should be sanded clean.
Switch springs are known to fail - this usually results in a Dead Short condition, not open circuit.
With good eyes this can be done through the side holes without disassemble.

Do you have and understand a Volt/ohm meter?
Testing is super simple if you do.
- to any part of the body
+ to center pin
Press switch and read
This is going to get ugly.......... I can feel it in my prosthetic leg!
Questions need to be answered for help to be meaningful.
The meter? It was in question form - not a plea for ANOTHER question.
