What size syringe for Joye 510 carto?

I purchased a 5ml syringe w/ blunt 18 gauge needle and I can't get the needle through the hole to fill in juice for the JOYE 510 carto. I already poke the hole w/ a pin, but the syringe w/ blunt 18 gauge needle would not get in. Anyone know what size I need? Or am I doing anything wrong?

The 18g can fit, but you have to force it a bit the first time you use it. I tend to just let the tip rest on top of the pierced fill port and fill it slowly.

The blunt needle will be a hassle. You can use and 18g sharp, or lightgeoduck has a video showing how to make the initial piercing with a bent paperclip:
