Juicy Musings

I’m searching for the perfect vape (who isn’t?) In lieu of trying to find the right mod and tank, I am holding steady with the eVic and clearomizers (with an occasional carto for good measure). Instead, I am focusing on juice. At this stage in my cigarette recovery effort, I find myself searching desperately for an all-day vape. My juice-ADD is making this an almost impossible task. At six weeks off analogs, there are some things I do know. I do not care about throat hit. I do not really care about plumes of vapor. I really just care about taste and a few other factors. I have perused countless juice sites until my eyes glaze over, lulling me into juicy oblivion. And so, I offer my musings about what makes a great juice . . . read on with a grain of salt and a drop or two of nic to keep you going.

What’s in a Name?

Vendors that offer simple juice flavors and names do not cut it for me. I am not satisfied with simplistic names like “apple” and “cherry”. In fact, “Amazing Apple” and “Chillin’ Cherry” are just names that get glossed over in alliterative obscurity as I search for a name that really grabs me. Granted, simplicity has its merits, but I want creativity in a name. What baits me? Names like Grandmaster (reminiscent of The Furious Five come to mind) and Gambit, which I cannot pin down, it just sounds cool, like an old Steve McQueen movie. And speaking of pin, Absolute Pin is intriguing, though I’m not so crazy about the flavor, the name calls to me. Keep in mind, I know these are all chess-related names, but I know nothing of the game, so my mind veers elsewhere. Other names like Dorky Stud, Khlorine, and Coo Ca Choo are irresistible as well. How about Nightshift? It’s a classic combination of coffees, donuts, and cops. I love a juice in uniform. Alas, names mean nothing without a good description.

Explain Yourself

A good description is worth its weight in gold. It transcends the “ho hum” of pedestrian adjectives like, “great”, “fabulous” and “all day vape”. Tell me what’s in your juice? I read juice descriptions like I read a menu. Don’t tell me how wonderful it is; tell me what flavors linger in your intoxicating concoction. While you’re at it, please be detailed in the make-up of a juice – PG/VG ratios, natural flavoring vs. artificial, sweet, and savory, what have you. No promises, just allow me to make up my own mind by revealing what makes your juice so delicious.

If Looks Could Sell

Packaging is priceless. Some people just want the juice, dammit. Other the other hand, I am amused by presentation. This does not mean a box full of confetti or a fancy ribbon adorning the cap. A well-designed package completes the sale of the juice. If it looks good, I feel good about buying it. There is an “oooh and ahhh” factor when opening a box and finding beautiful glass bottles adorned with attractive labels, containing all the pertinent information (nic, PG/VG, size, and “born on” date.) Five Pawns takes it a new level by placing their bottles (including the oft-overlooked sampler) in special industrial-looking cartons, as well as including a sheet with “tasting notes”. This is just, well, sexy.

One Satisfied Customer

Customer Service comes in many forms. Ease of ordering, speed of delivery, good communication, and a personal touch are all important components of good customer service. And who doesn’t appreciate that little handwritten note on the invoice. I also like getting a freebie of some kind, whether it be a little drip tip, a carto, or a sample of juice. One thing I do NOT like is to have to stalk a site to be able to order, but then, that has been debated to a stalemate of a conclusion.

Taster’s Choice

The last thing and most important (and most subjective) part of a great juice is its taste. Personally, I am always on the lookout for something unique; something that goes above and beyond your standard menthol, cherry, and ecto-whatever. I love a good blend. It has to be smooth and blended seamlessly into one unique flavor. Whether it is a combination of tobacco and dessert tastes, or a power packed fruit infusion, it should all meld into a beautiful and flavorful mix. A good juice has that “je ne sais quoi” and make you go “. . . hmm”. Of course, the frontrunner in this would have to be Boba’s Bounty. Who would have thought graham crackers could be turned into something more artful than a s’more?

Final Thoughts

This blog is not about specific juices, although I have named some standouts. Keep in mind, as always, YOUR MILEAGE MAY VARY. As has been repeated over and over, our tastes vary. So, instead of a review, I offer you some food for thought on what makes a good juice. The overall description, presentation, customer service, and of course, taste, makes a juice special and desirable. Notice, I did not make mention of price. If I like a juice that much, I don’t care how much it costs. I’m going buy it and vape it like it’s going out of stock (which it most likely is.)

I more or less agree with your juicy musings, MsComptrtchr. For me taste is first and if that's not there then VP/TH don't mean a thing. If you like great taste then you owe it to your vaping-self to try some dripping attys with your eVic.
