As a fairly newcomer to the vapeing scene I tend to come across a fairly narrow range of mods and tanks, drippets etc. and thus though i would share not only my insites on the scene from a "nub's" point of view but also as somebody who really has little to no experience but tends to know what he likes.
Now without further ado lets get on with the...

Maraxus V2 (DNA variant) review
View attachment 376024

Brand: Smokjoy (although clones are available)
Model: Maraxus V2 Mod (DNA/Helix variant)

Model Number: SMJ-MM20

Size: 110(L)*25(D)MM

Weight: 0.3KGS

Battery Compatibility: 18650, 18500, 18350

Build Quality:

The build quality of this mod is actualy pretty fantastic, it has a decent weight and thanks to the variable configeration of the mods design it can be altered to fit almost any size hand with ease. The claw and ring system that makes up the primary body of the mod means that cleaning and even stripped carrying regardless of the situation can make this a lot easier to keep handy when going through more secure locations without causing too much alarm such a airport security etc as you can show with ease its non functionlity as well as its internal components with minimal fuss.

There is a little machine edging on the "claw's" that can in certain configurations grip and even nip the skin of the hand as well as collect dirt and can make the mod look grubby without regular cleaning.

Looks and Style:

This really is a love it or loath it mech mod with very little in between. The contoured grip and variable telescopic length means that not only can it fit various battery sizes but can be comfortable to use regardless of hand size or battery choice.
The pattern on the mod is in my opinion a thing of beauty and really adds to the overall design which really shows off the unique and quirky look of the mod perfectly.

Nub Build 101:

I'm presently using the Maraxus in conjunction with the Omega RDA with a 1.0ohm sleeper microcoil build on organic cotton using an Ultrafire BRC 18650 4200mAh 3.7 li-ion battery.

This gives me roughly two hours normal vape with a fairly cool draw thanks in no small part to the omega dripper with none of the "normal issues" one would associate with a microcoil build on a metal mod such as hot buttoning or excessive heat build up.

I would note that due to the horrifying lack of air vents on the mods body that high quality battery's are used and excessive chain vapeing is avoided due to the inherent risk that comes with mech vapeing.

Technical Details TLDNR version:

1.Made of 316 surgical stainless steel and brass body
2.Upper and lower pins are copper made
3.Auto adjustment in the upper pins (to prevent misfire)
4.Soft touch firing button
5.Larger pins to lower the voltage drop
6.Twin-toned body for elegant look
7.Parts can be manipulated to achieve desired design
8.Standard 510 connection suitable for most tanks and drippers

Final Thoughts:

At as low as $60 or £40 from many vendors the Maraxus v2 is a decent mod with a unique look that can work well for both beginner and apparently veteran modders alike and with a telescoping body for variable battery length and a spring loaded 520 connection allowing for almost any dripper to sit flush with the body means almost anything will look good on this thing with almost no effort.

For this mod in terms of style i would recommend the Omega RDA from Loki Labs or the Big Dripper by sub Ohm innovations as both toppers have the perfect shape and size to complement the mod without adding much to its weight or bulk.

Overall: 8.5 / 10
