Thought I'd chime in real quick, ended up going back to a different wicking style resembling something several million pages back in the thread. Thread rayon through coil like normal, and rather than fanning out the tails, just splitting the tails about 3/4 of the thickness and snipping the thicker segment off each side with scissors as close to the coil as I can, then trimming the rest to length. What really seems to have improved my results is positioning the rayon before saturating it, instead of after like I had been, which makes sense to me now since saturated those fibers grip each other and any bending after that will cause them to change the shape of the wick leading to the inconsistencies.

Seems to be the most effective solution so far for me. Doing the splitting & snipping is so much faster and easier than fanning & cutting on a diagonal and much easier to be consistent. Couldn't be happier.

I stretch it initially because it evens the fibers if there's any thicker spots. I usually do it mounted on my mod but the camera angle would be off for the setup I used. So I had to try to hold the base. But I was holding the other end to pull against stretching it down to pull through.

Yeah half the video is just priming it. Kinda shows how fast it is to wick.

This is the wick this morning after I vaped it pretty hard last night, looks like the density will hold up and looks good. It's vaping great as you can see, Looks brand new.

The one side is going over the high post.

I have the half tails pulled to opposite sides.
