A newbie's juice diaries 10/04/2013

I received my order from Heather's Heavenly Vapes the day after I posted my first entry, 9/28/13. My mother-in-law (hereafter known as Momma Donna) was in Chicago for a weekend visit. She was still a cigarette smoker when she came, but she was a vaper when she left. We ordered her a simple kit to start her out and she used some of my extra "equipment" while she was visiting. Thus far our switching to vaping has converted 2 other hard-core smokers. Momma Donna reports that she smoked her last cigarette on 10/1/13 at 9 am and doesn't feel any withdrawals or cravings to smoke. This woman is nigh on 70 years old my friends!

Back to HHV - OMG!!! Her Tuscan Cocoa filled my mouth with joy! It was so savory right out of the package! I didn't even have time to let it steep because it was just so yummy! The flavor was so complex and velvety smooth! I was so sad that I had only ordered a sample 3 ml size. I haven't gotten into a rotation whereby I have enough liquids to steep some for weeks on end and still have some ready for vaping and plus I am just not patient enough to wait weeks for a liquid to reach its fullest potential.

Heather's Mocha Java Smooth was another delight, and again, because it was so small and vape-able out of the package I didn't give it a chance to reach full flavor potential. This was as delicious as any coffee flavor I have tried, but I think it would have been amazing had I gotten a larger amount and let it steep.

The third flavor I got was Vanilla Dream. It was a solid vanilla flavor, really tasty right away. I think some of the reason these were so delicious with no steeping is because they are from the bulk mixes used for sample packs and so already have steeped, maybe? Also I have to wonder if the low nicotine level has the effect of enhancing the flavors?

I actually haven't tried the Parrothead Key Lime Pie flavor yet because it still has a sharp perfumey smell to it (wait, what? perfumey is not a word?) so I am letting it air out a bit before I try it. I am not big on the fruit flavors so it would surprise me to enjoy it. But Eddie says he likes the fruits so maybe I will let him try that one.

As for my Ahlusion order of Tiramisu, I am saving it because after my weekend with HHV, I got a case of Vaper's tongue and am vaping some juices that I don't mind wasting. It smells AHmazing (see what I did there?) though. I received this order on Monday, the 28th. Super fast order fulfillment and shipping from both HHV and Ahlusion. I will return to both of these vendors for larger orders.

Speaking of order fulfillment...On September 30 I received my email notification that my order from Ms. T's placed on 9/13/13 went from "awaiting fulfillment" to "awaiting shipping" Wahoo! only 17 days to move one spot closer!! I checked the update on her website this morning, and my order was two digits away from those in the last shipment, so likely it will ship next week.

I also read up on steeping for the incurably impatient such as myself. A blogger from another forum wrote up about the 5-10 min warm "bath" method of steeping which I will be trying from now on...that is when I can taste again. If I ever get to a point that I have a ton of liquids then I will continue to "time-steep" but I'm not sure I ever will on a social worker's salary!

That's my update on the "top 5 vendors" list so far. Next order I plan to try Alien Visions currently in the #1 spot) and Backwoods Brew (currently #3 spot). And I still have Ahlusion's Tiramisu and my order from Ms. T's to try as well!

Happy vaping! Until next time...:vapor:
