Boge Revolution- review

Sorry I've been slack on my reviews lately.

The Boge revolution is my first feeder mod. I've had it for about two months. It is very light, matte black, and comfortable to hold. The bottle slides into the mod into its own snug compartment. To "feed", one merely turns the mod upside down and gives a little squeeze or two. Then you give a short inhale to suck the liquid into the cartomizer and vape.

The first time I tried the Revo, I loaded the bottle with one of my standards: VapeKing Banana Nut Bread. The vapor and flavor were INSANE. Plumes of sexy baked goodness. And since I didn't need to worry about running the carto dry, it just kept going and going. I was in heaven and in my impulsive way, promptly declared this the best PV ever.

You can probably guess what comes next. Disappointment.

First big, big, BIG con: The off button is not secure. This resulted in the Revo firing in my bag one day, for probably about 3 minutes before I noticed the burning banana bread smell. This sucker completely melted the innards of the carto, and I thought it was done for. I am very lucky that I did not self-immolate.

I don't know if this next con is related, but the little metal fitting that the cartomizer screws into is now bent (possibly from the heat of the meltdown) and I think it might be displacing the needle so it no longer feeds into the carto properly. The result is leakage and gurgling. Removing the carto, blowing it out, and cleaning the fitting have no effect.

Now the Revo (currently filled with Want2Vape Campfire Coffee) just gives me bubbly hits. And the metal fitting has a semi-permanent seepage of liquid around its edge, which requires cleaning with a Q-tip.

In short, I cannot recommend the Boge Revolution if you are out-and-about. If you plan to leave this at home it is a brilliant fog machine. But the possibility of self-firing makes it a bad traveling companion. Sorry.

PROS-
-Light
-Inexpensive
-Works as a passthrough
-Uses stock-standard Boge cartos or any atomizer
-Vapor production is profuse and flavorful
-Contains a well for a spare carto
-Can produce a useless but entertaining multicolour LED light show (as per PBusardo, you can talk to aliens with it)

CONS
-"OFF" button is not as secure as it should be, resulting in self-firing and probable internal damage
-Spare bottle/needle rigs are nearly impossible to find on the internet (normal needle-tipped bottles don't always work, and a correct fit is essential)
-The three tiny lights that allegedly show the battery power remaining are not really helpful, since they remain defiantly green no matter how charged it is

Do I regret the purchase? Surprisingly not, because I wanted to find out what the hubbub was about "bottom feeders" without the expense of one of the handcrafted models. I feel like the Revolution helped me accomplish that, for a while at least. I plan to get a serious bottom feeder like the Reo sometime in the future due to my positive experiences with the Revolution. Someday Boge will get the kinks worked out and when they do, this will be back on my shopping list.
