So who knew carto tanks could be so very... mmm, mmm... Yummy?!?
Quite obviously... Not this lady!
My initial set-up - the ciggy-style cartos - lasted me less than a week. Three days to be exact. Had no idea how to recharge the silly little things. No instruction book, nothing to be found on the net. And being entirely new to vaping - and thereby ignorant of ECF - nowhere to go for assistance. Visiting the parents, and therefore unable to get back to the original place of purchase, it was quite literally a make-it-or-break-it moment for me.
I wanted to cry...
Instead of caving and giving up the venture entirely, I visited a brick in mortar within twenty minutes drive - who also had no idea how to recharge the silly little things - and dropped down the second half of a C-note on one of their eGo-style starter kits. Thereby began my foray into tanks, the ciggy-style cartos being quickly appropriated by the hubby. Once we finally figured out how to recharge the silly little things, that is!
Clearly, the cartomizers were just not my thing.
Later, in search of pyrex tanks via internet vendors, I accidentally ordered one of the little pretties pictured below:

Being the newb-boob that I am - What the hell is this thing? - I set it aside in favor of my shiny new ProTanks and Davides. And there it has set...
Fast forward to this past week. Extended family's in town for a visit, half-a-dozen females out on two wheels all day long. And my very limited supply of rebuilt heads - three, of which one is iffy - doesn't make it past Tuesday, with no down time to frankenstein more.
Out of sheer frustration, not wanting to give in and just light up alongside the rest, I pull that little sucker back out of my kit and fill up. Nothing lost, nothing gained. Remembering the lovely nastiness of the dry hits on the earlier ciggy-style cartos, I leave it to set and kill some time on the computer. Two quick reads and one fifteen minute video later, I fill it up again... Er, a bit more correctly...
Thirty minutes later and... WOW!
SERIOUSLY? WOW!!!
Not only was the flavor nicely present, but I was able to dial it up well past where I've gone with any of my tanks, without the burnt aftertaste. And whereas the head/wick assemblies were only lasting a day, if that, I am now heading into my third day on the same cartomizer. And I haven't had to refill the tank piece once!
On the downside, I have noticed that when chain-vaping after-hours, I do have to take off the drip tip and moisten up the polyfill every so often. But honestly, that's no biggie so long as it holds up during the day when out and about.
Moral of the story: Need to get another one of these suckers on order, as well as some more of the cartomizer inserts!
