I decided to go ahead and try this "Blog" thing out. I am new to the idea and have no clue what it is that I am actually doing. So here we go.
Im a 24yr old EMT and was looking for extra cash. I work in Richmond, VA for a company doing patient transport. The moneys not bad, its better than 911 pay, It just lacks in the excitement department. I spend my days picking up PTs that have been treated and need a ride home, PT is patient BTW, or PTs that 911 took to the wrong hospital and they need to go to another hospital ASAP. Things like internal bleeds, stabbings, shootings, or other crazy things which happen in the great VA.
For the last month I had been looking for a way to pick up some extra income. Thats when I found a shop downtown. An E-Cig shop, I had used E-Cigs for about 5 months and enjoyed them and working at an E-Cig shop sounded like a good way to spend a weekend. So i went in and tossed in an application. I got the job and started... well today.
I took a look around the store and brushed up on all the models we had. Got my prices all written down on a cheat sheet i could keep beside the register. For the first few hours the store owner shadowed me just jumping in time to time to help the customer understand the product better. Im guessing I did a good job on my own because 3hrs into the shift and i found myself alone in the shop. Checking up on products, helping customers out, polishing the display case and surfing ECF in my downtime.
When im at home I find myself around E-Cigs all day, shopping online and reading up on the new things coming out for E-cigs... But now... now i get paid to do it! This could be something new and great!
So this is my first day on the job and it has gone very smooth. Well kinda, the one holdup has been trying to find everything. There are a lot of things in here and trying to find them all can be a hassle. But I'm sure i will get the hang of things in do time. Monday through Friday I will be on as an EMT and every Saturday I will be able to spend my time here at the shop, getting paid to do what I love to do.
**Best part of working here: I get to try the flavors, heck yeah!
