Ok so you are ready to try building.
Most of the building kits are garbage.
What do you really need found in those kits.
There are only two items from those kits i recommend.
1. Ohm meter
2. Ceramic tweezers
You can get those two items singly on eBay, Amazon, etc.
What else do you need.
Screw drivers
A way to cut the wire
The wire
Scissors to cut the wicks
A pocket sized tackle box to hold coils O rings, spare screws,
Everyone has drawers of screw drivers.
I wrap coils around the shaft of screwdrivers.
If you have an RTA. 2, and 2.4 mm are about the only sized coils worth using.
If you Use RDAs or 24-25 mm RTAs; then yes getting a coil jig would be worth while, to me it sounds pointless to get a coil jig with 6 rods just to use the same two rods day in and day out.
I use 26 and 28 gauge wire. I use fingernail clippers to snip THR wire, and tgey cut the wire just as close as the side cut clippers.
I went to the fabric department of a store snd bought a pair of folding scissors. They work great.
The pocket sized tackle box in the sporting section of stores gives you more compartments for O rings, spare screws, spare coils, etc.
I usually have 8-10 prewrapped coils ready to install ib a moments notice should i need to install onr
If you don't already have screwdrivers; the little blue screwdriver that comes with most attys has a diameter of 1.95-2 mm. That was mg coil jig for a year. Later i got a set of jewelry screwdrivers, and I scarfed the screwdriver with a 2.4 mm Shaft for building coils for tge Orchid V3, Goblin Mini, and silverplay nano.
