Day 15

So, I have made it past the two week mark, still without even a drag off an analog. I'm pretty proud of myself really. I still crave an actual cig every once in awhile, but I just pick up my PV and vape away until the craving is gone. I have also "converted" five of my friends and co-workers in two weeks time, plus I've told three or four strangers about it who have asked.

My sense of smell just keeps getting stronger and stronger and I am amazed at how bad smokers smell. It's just awfull!!!! I really had no idea I smelled that bad, and I don't ever want to again. My daughter stayed the night at my sisters house and my sister smokes in her house on the weekends. When my daughter brought her stuff in to my house I about gaged. EVERYTHING stunk!!!!

I'm still messing around with trying to find what works best for my vaping style. I've started using my Ego more than my 510, mainly because of battery life, but also I get stronger throat hits with the Ego for some reason. Not very fond of my cartomizers yet, but they are handy for filling before I drive. I tend to use my drip tip most often on both the 510 and the Ego. I think I get better flavor and vapor that way, and I am getting better with not flodding the atty so often. Yay! I use my 510 for when I go out in public, because I think it looks classier and less like a crack pipe, and I use the Ego for home.)

Steeping: So, it seems as if this steeping thing is true for most vapes. The ones I ordered in the begining that are two weeks old have much more flavor than the ones I just got a couple days ago. I wish that wasn't the case, I have quite a few new flavors that I really want to try, but when I dripped them they didn't have much flavor. Out of all the ones that I have tried I have three favorites: 1. Mad Vapes Cheesecake in 16 mg is my number one vape so far. I will be ordering more on payday. 2. Mad Vapes Carmel Cream in 16 mg is wonderful. I really like the creamy taste and it smells wonderful. 3. Bananna Nut Bread, also by Mad Vapes, smells and tastes JUST LIKE banana nut bread. Now when I am really craving an analog I found that mixing 2 parts Artic Menthol and 1 part JC Origional (Both from Johnson Creek) really take the cake. It's a bit harsh, but thats what I need at those times. 5-6 hits and I'm good. Mad Vapes and Johnson Creek are the only juices that I have used so far, so those are all I have to go on. I have several Ms. T's Bakery flavors that should be ready in a few more days, and three different Backwoods Brew flavors that will be ready a few days after that. I'll post later on how those work for me.

The ones that I have tried that I don't care for much are: Mad Vapes Cotton Candy and MV Fried Apple. My brother LOVES the fried apple, I just didn't care for it. It does taste and smell just like fried apples, but it just wasn't my favorite. The cotton candy smells like cotton candy, but doesn't taste like it in my opinion. I haven't tried the other JC flavors I have, mainly because they just all smell the same, so I'm assuming they all taste the same. Might try the peach later though.

One last thing: I have a canker sore on my tongue. It's been there for five days now and it's really pissing me off. I've had them in the past, so I can't say that it's from vaping, but I hope this isn't a frequent thing that happens. Ugh. Not fun at all.

Well, that's about it. I'm really happy with how great I feel in two weeks time, and my kids are soooo happy that I don't smell like an ash tray and how I don't say "Let me smoke first" or "Right after I finish this cigarette" anymore. I'm in control. I love that my time no longer revolves around cigarettes.

Hehe - you are so right about how smokers' smell. It's totally overwhelming, isn't it? I just wonder if they smelt that bad to me before I started smoking, or whether it's some kind of reaction to having quit?

Anyway, congratulations on packing them in. I had the canker sores too, off and on for a long time. I use a chlorhexidine mouthwash now and that deals with them pretty good. I'm guessing that cigarette smoke has an antibacterial property, and when we quit our mouths aren't used to the extra levels of bacteria. In reality, though, it could be anything - but the mouthwash works!

Take care,

SJ

Congrats Spoomsister, on two full weeks! I know when I quit, those first two weeks went by almost unnoticed while I experienced the joys of smelling and tasting again. Like another vaper recently told me, many things smell so much better, but you can smell the stinky stuff better, too! Enjoy the return of your senses, and consider this a well-deserved pat on the back. :)
