here is hat i did to make it taste better.

i rebuilt the wick with kanthal wire and new wick. the very small area that the wire will wrap the wick with a rolled small piece of mesh ss400 around before wrapping the wire.

make sure the mesh doesnt touch any metal besides the wire.

seems to get a cleaner taste.

IMHO

I'll have to give that a try when my 2.4 head , fails . Right now ( knock on wood ) it has been performing great . Lots of flavor and vapor , even at a very low voltage . So I'm happy for now . But as I do have several re build-ables , I already have the kanthal and the ss mesh , so ready to go .

You might try filling it loosely with baking soda, apply some vinegar and hold you finger on the top (to keep the bubbles in) and repeat as desired. This did wonder for an atty o' mine. If you can find a cartridge to slip over it you' ll have more baking soda to work with. Of course ,being rebuildable this may not be necessary . I'm gonna try one of the heads in a bottom feeder. With 510 threading it may just drop in. Maybe the first bottom feeder rebuildable atty evar! :toast:
