Elf's Sweet Cinnamon (for Advanced Mixers)

Elf's Sweet Cinnamon

This recipe was a long time in the making. Excellent on its own, it can also be used as a base liquid to add a drop of many other flavors for some wonderful combinations. (Try Linda's (perfumersapprentice.com) Ripe Banana, or Apple, or...!)

First, the hard part. You need to make the super concentrated Ethyl Maltol liquid as follows. This will take a few days, so do this first. This is more concentrated than standard 10% Ethyl Maltol solution.

You will need:
-Ethyl Maltol crystals
-small mixing bottle (glass bottle with sealed top, clear bottle works best. I use an old 30ml clear e-liquid bottle)
-PG
-receiving bottle to store your prepared concentrated liquid

How to make the concentrate:
Add Ethyl Maltol to the mixing bottle.. perhaps 1/3 full or slightly more.
Now fill the bottle about 3/4 the way with PG.
Heat bottle gently without the cap (I use a microwave, 10 seconds max)
CAREFULLY (bottle is hot!!) put the cap on and shake vigorously! Ethyl Maltol should completely dissolve.
Set bottle aside, and wait 1 day.

*Some crystals will begin to re-form on the bottom of the bottle. If there is a little bit of this, simply repeat the heating, shaking, and setting process.
*If there are a lot of crystals reforming, add a little more PG and repeat the heating, shaking, and setting process.
*If NO crystals re-form, wait another day. If there are still none (very unlikely), you will need to add more Ethyl Maltol crystals and repeat.

This can take 3-4 heatings, so be patient. The ideal result is almost all Ethyl Maltol dissolved, with just a little bit of crystals on the bottom.
Now, LET IT SIT... maybe 3-4 days.

After the mixing bottle has sat for 3-4 days, carefully pour off the liquid into your receiving bottle for storage and use. Do NOT pour any remaining crystals from the bottom of your mixing bottle. Save the mixing bottle and any remaining crystals for the next time you need to make this.

Now for the mixing!

Use Scubabatdan's ejuice Calculator. I assume here you know how to use it properly - if not, this recipe may not be for you.

In section 1 of the first page of the eJuice Calculator:
Plug in your Base PG Nic%, Target PG Nic%, and amount to be made in ml.
Now here comes the magic..
Water/Vodka/PGA - 27 %. This is your concentrated Ethyl Maltol field. Please note that because of the way this field is calculated, it should appear in section 2 as approximately 8.1%. This is still VERY sweet! If it is too sweet for you, you can back it off a bit. You can always try making a small batch first and experiment to your liking)
VG - 30 %
Flavor is 18% - this is Linda's Cinnamon Redhots flavor, exclusively from perfumersapprentice.com

After calculating, Section 2 of the eJuice Calculator will show your amounts for mixing.
When you mix, add the nicotine base, the PG, the concentrated Ethyl Maltol liquid, and the flavor. Cap and shake well.
Then add the VG as the final ingredient. Cap and shake well again.

Lastly, congratulate yourself on a job well done. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the finest Sweet Cinnamon eliquid you have ever tasted!
Special thanks to Linda of perfumersapprentice.com for her amazing flavors, and to Scubabatdan for his amazing eJuice Calculator!
