I'm working through some ideas regarding a proactive campaign to increase public awareness and how to arm people with the truth and factual information about vaping and tobacco harm reduction.
One thought that is growing on me is the number 99.
99 is a critical number for us, as it represents the amount of harm reduction we enjoy with the switch away from tobacco burners (t-burners - I hate the term analog!)
A critical success factor in any informational campaign is ability to get key pieces of information into the listener's head in the shortest amount of time (aka, the elevator speech)
If after I've had an opportunity to speak with someone, another smoker, or someone who knows a smoker (I'll get that key demographic in a future post), my goal at this early stage, is for them to remember 2 things:
Embracing the 99(%) idea, I decided to extend the use of the number to establishing a personal goal - and that is to try and convert / educate 99 smokers to the benefits of vaping.
Pretty lofty sounding, but with what my successful experience has been so far, and based on what I read every where vapers talk about their own success stories, I believe it is an achievable goal.
All I have to do is seize every opportunity that presents to have "the conversation."
As I said, this is the early stages of my thinking & deep cogitating on the whole idea, and I will share as I continue working on it.
In the meantime, the next post is going to be about today's smoker encounter - how I started the conversation, and how it turned out.
