GoodeJuice Wild Turkey Tobacco review, 8/12/12

Vendor: Goodejuice
Liquid: Wild Turkey tobacco
Vendor Description: Our naturally extracted Turkish tobacco. This premium Tobacco eliquid is made from a blend of superior quality Turkish (Oriental) tobaccos that are selected from the finest regions. We extract the flavor over the course of several weeks and the end result is a naturally sweet and aromatic flavor with nothing else added. Yep, it's Organic by the way! Brewed the Goodejuice way! This flavor is only available in a 50/50 PG/VG mix due to the extraction process.

Thoughts: Although a little misleading, the name has nothing to do with Kentucky bourbon, or the large omnivorous foraging bird (Meleagris gallopavo) that Ben Franklin thought represented the United States better than the bald eagle. The name refers to the country, as in Anatolia, Asia Minor, the seat of the Ottoman Empire, Byzantine Empire, Trojan city-state, etc. More specifically, it refers to Turkish tobacco, also known as 'Oriental,' which is a small-leafed, sun-cured aromatic grown in Turkey and Egypt, among other countries (thank you Wikipedia). Turkish is common in pipe blends, and is popularly known as a constituent tobacco (blended with Virginia tobacco) in Camel cigarettes.

Wild Turkey is a smooth tobacco with decent throat-hit and vapor production, and is perfect for all-day vaping. At first vape, it is mellow and unassuming, and in my opinion one of the more genuine tobacco flavors available. Only after additional vaping (and proper steeping) does Wild Turkey reveal its complex layering. It is earthy, a little dry, and slightly spicy. It has a natural sweetness that rounds out the dryness and (like GeJ's other House Brewed tobaccos) is in no way overpowering. The flavor is reminiscent of the smell of a freshly opened pack of Camels, but is perhaps not quite as rich and is a shade darker, but devoid of any ash-try aftertaste. I've found that Wild Turkey is excellent with a cup of coffee, which brings out a slight fruity, almost cranberry tartness.

As we expect from all Naturally Extracted Tobaccos, Wild Turkey won't do your atomizer any favors. However, it is not a certified atty serial killer, due to GeJ's extensive filtration process.

Like the Trojan Horse (which should more accurately be called 'the Greek Horse,' if you think about it), Wild Turkey is seemingly harmless, simple, and mellow at first vape, but then it reveals the force that it's hiding inside only after you've allowed it into your home, fortress, city-state, or whatever the case may be.
