Here is a continuation from my last post.

Stanky 555 Menthol Neutralizer ** I think I gave the 555 Menthol to her haha!***
Yeah, that 555 Menthol stuff . Maybe it needed to mellow or something, because today when I opened the bottle I didn't immediately want to close it back up.
Anyway
on Saturday I discovered a local store selling lots of Lorann flavors for relatively cheap, and wanted to see if I could come up with something totally different that would use the 555 as its base.
This one neutralizes it even better than the first, and doesn't use EOs. The end result is a bit like a Thin Mint, with no hint at all of whatever it is that my taste buds seem to dislike so much:
1.00 ml 555 menthol
1.50 ml VG
0.20 ml Lorann's chocolate
0.10 ml Lorann's caramel
0.20 ml gin (wanted to experiment with using alcohol instead of distilled water, too)
The recipe makes 3 ml of juice at ~12 mg strength.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The 555 Menthol *Yep! I was right haha!
OK, last night at coffee, Raven was kind enough to gift me a bottle of Nhale-Exhale 555 Menthol. I can't turn down free juice, right?
I tried vaping it. OMG.
With all due respect to Nhaler, the vapor tastes like ... and NOTHING like the menthol analogs I used to smoke. Gah.
Instead, this is something really weird I can't really describe. Nutty, sort of. I recognize the attempt to provide a tobacco-ey flavor. But it's like nothing I've ever tried before, or ever want to try again. And the smell kinda turns my stomach, and gives me a bit of a headache.
This reminds me, the smileys could really use a nausea/vomiting option.
So yeah. I hatehatehate the idea of wasting otherwise perfectly good nicotine. 8-o
So, I did some blending in my desktop lab, and came up with this recipe that mostly nullifies the vileness, and turns it into something a bit like doublemint gum.
As a side note, the bottle didn't have a strength listed on it, but the buzz I got vaping it straight made me think it was ~36 mg. So, I cut it down to ~18 mg.
Here's my recipe:
0.20 ml Lorann wintergreen
0.10 ml Lorann Spearmint
1 drop peppermint Essential Oil
1.50 ml VG (I used Wilton's)
0.20 ml distilled water
2.00 ml 555 menthol
Voila - a much tastier vape, and no longer something I need "to get used to".
I think I may adjust this a bit, but for now I'll just enjoy this blend.

Ariel's DIY Supplies:
Where I've been finding my supplies so far:
Cart mods:
Straws: Swisspers. I got mine at Walmart in a color to match my e-cig. (link provided for visual reference only)
Teabags: Teeli flip filters. Purchased these at the gourmet cooking store nearby. A bit pricey, but the quality makes store-bought look pathetic. Plus, you don't have to fill up the trashcan with crappy tea. (link provided for visual reference only)
I've tried Fluval and I hate it as much as the regular poly-fill that the blank carts come pre-filled with. At least it was relatively cheap, and can be kept around as a backup.
DIY Juicing:
At the moment, I'm not sure where I would recommend to go buy the base juice.
E-Smokey Treats has incredibly fast service, and I've ordered twice and both times got exactly what I ordered in both equipment and juice. The flavor selection is a little limited, and "only" goes up to 36 mg strength. The quality is pretty good. Then again, I have rather limited experience with juice quality.
So, for shipping time, and reliability, I can definitely recommend them.
I placed an order with My Freedom Smokes, and while I haven't gotten my order yet, I should be getting it early next week. This site sells 0-48 mg strength, in sizes ranging from tiny to 1000 ml. I'm wanting to stretch my juice $$$, so I'm glad to find a company with a reputation for quality products and fast delivery. I can say that the customer service is so far A++++.
Lorann candy flavors: I haven't bought these from the internet yet; instead, I've found most of them at a local gourmet cooking shop.
Glycerine: Wilton's 59 ml bottle from the cake-making section of my local craft store.
Syringes:
Larger than 1 ml: CML Supply. The smallest assortment pack, combined with a 10 pack of their 3 ml syringes, will give you almost everything you need, including a thin-enough gauge for refilling carts.
1 ml: Dog Cat Etc. CML doesn't sell anything smaller than 3 ml syringes, so I bought my 1 ml syringes here. Besides, I have pet rats, and all those extra syringes will come in handy in the future.
I've ordered from both places, and the turnaround time is good.
Containers: I know many people use 5 ml dropper bottles. When I can't get hold of Scope Breath Drops anymore, I will get hold of some of those. Yes, they're considerably more expensive than a bulk order of 5 ml dropper bottles, but the Breath Drops container is really cool and virtually impossible to drip all over the inside of your pocket once it's closed. Besides, so far I haven't need more than a few of them at a time. Using one of the syringes from the aforementioned assortment pack makes it easy to clean out the nasty-tasting breath drops and refill with yummy juice.
