Letter to AZStar Newspaper

I think this is my 5th or 6th. I'd like to store some of them so I don't delete them. AZStar says only 150 words, max 170. That is really tough. Hometown paper was 400 words. Anyway...

I, with references, believe that we are going down the wrong road by vilifying e-cigarette users. Four ingredients; Propylene Glycol (PG), Vegetable Glycerin (VG), Flavoring and Nicotine are in e-cigareete juices. Three of the 4 are U.S. Pharmacopeia (USP) certified. PG is also used in ventilation systems as an airborne anti-microbial, most notably hospitals. Multiple studies and tests, both in the U.S. and other first world countries report that harmful chemicals are at such a miniscule levels so as to not require reporting by the FDA.
Pharmacies want it regulated for the business and tobacco companies want us to continue smoking, so the fear mongering has a big financial war chest to continue it. Major e-juice producers in the U.S. know that they are being watched, but paid-off testers pick the samples that are most damaging.
My doctor tells me I am getting better test results. Most importantly, I enjoy the taste of a non-caloric apple pie. Yes, I have a sweet tooth and I am getting healthy.
