New User Report: Kayfun Lite Plus Lives Up to the Hype!

I started vaping and stopped smoking over 2 years ago, using those nasty clear test-tube clearos from Volcano. About a year ago, a friend introduced me to the Kanger EVOD and it was like heaven. Shortly thereafter, I went on a juice hunt, trying many of the top vendors, and found my e-juice home at Ahlusion. Their juice is nothing short of extraordinary.

Within the past year I’ve learned to rebuild the Protank/EVOD coils, and get pretty good results, though it’s sometimes hit or miss. I’ve also tried the Smoktech Pyrex ARO, and like the ARO2 with a Kanger coil in it.

Lately I’ve been frustrated with the “hit or miss” nature of both the stock and my rebuilt coils. One could be great, and the next one just “so-so”. I decided to see if there was something better out there, and everything pointed to the Kayfun, so about 2 weeks ago I ordered my first Kayfun Lite Plus from inTaste and a Provari Mini from ProVape.

Missing Parts:

My KFL+ arrived this past Monday without a positive post insulator or a center pin insulator, but since I’d never seen one before, I didn’t know, and couldn’t figure out why the KFL would not register any resistance with a beautiful, correctly installed micro coil. Thanks to the great folks on this thread I was able to make a temporary positive post insulator from an old credit card, and that’s doing the trick until replacements arrive on Friday. InTaste was super fast and helpful too, and is also sending me the replacement parts. I wonder if these are assembled at SvoëMesto or by inTaste, with parts from SvoëMesto?

My First Coil (Micro with Cotton)– Perfect:

I like the idea of a micro with cotton because of the ease of re-wicking, but in spite of all the raves about this setup, I was dubious, because after extensive attempts, I was never able to build micro/cotton heads for the EVOD that gave me as much flavor as silica, but I decided to try the micro/cotton for the KFL first.
I used this PBusardo video as a guide, along with info throm this forum. 6 tight wraps of 30 gauge on a 3/32” drill bit (I think that’s about 2.4mm) gave me a perfect 1.8 Ω coil. Filled it up with Ahlusion Maple Dream 50pg/50vg, and set the Provari to 3.9 volts.

First Vape:

At 3 or 4 draws I was not impressed. Flavor was muted, and I thought, ACK! Typical cotton! But then the magic kicked in and the flavor and vapor from this thing kicked me off my ...!

Conclusion:

The Kayfun Lite Plus lives up to every positive word I’ve read about it: Absolutely full, full, full mouth-watering flavor and lots of fragrant vapor. No dry hits down to the last drop in the tank. No burnt hits, except when I overfilled the tank, and no leaks. I’m on day 3 with the same coil/wick, and the flavor is still completely delicious. BTW, I did a side by side comparison with an EVOD that is performing very well, and it’s no contest. This KFL is da absolute bomb!

The problem now is that I want another one, or two, and of course, I’ll need another Provari. (I got accustomed to having 2 or 3 flavors going with my EVODs.) So now the purchase rationalizing begins. Maybe try a clone?
