I'm going to start here with some thoughts I probably should have put in part 1, but oh well. They'll go here, anyway. I started vaping because I wanted to quit smoking. I have smoked off and on since I was about 17 years old, and I just truly detest the habit. It tastes nasty, it smells nasty, and it leaves a nasty residue on everything - including the smoker. It's just yucky. I've also always been allergic to it; ironically, that's part of the reason I started smoking. I have lived with smokers, and if I smoke myself, I don't get kept up at night not being able to breathe. I know it sounds awful - because it is - but I smoked to "kill" my lungs so I wasn't miserable all the time with all the second-hand smoke flying around. I hated it. The taste was so repugnant to me that I invested in cigarette holders with pass-through filters in them to remove some of the tar and hopefully some of the taste. I smoked Ultra Lights for the longest time because they had the lightest flavor. There just wasn't much about the habit that I enjoyed, and none of it had to do with the cigarettes themselves, per say. The motion and the nicotine, really. That's it. Because I was smoking though cigarette holders (and did for several years before I even learned about vaping), I was already weaned off the "feel" of cigarettes completely, and because I had never really enjoyed that harsh chemically taste I knew I wasn't going to miss it, so vaping seemed like the next logical progression. Even so, I simply couldn't believe it when my body shifted so totally the very first day I started vaping. After the second time I used my vaporizer, whenever I was craving nicotine it was that which I was craving, not the cigs. The very first day. My mind was blown. At any rate, before I invested in anything I did a little info digging and decided that at some point I wanted to try this seriously. I don't have the funds at the moment, but I would like to learn about mods and customs and wiring my own coils and all that at some point. It seems fascinating and fun, and I am eager to get into it when I have the money; that may be a while in coming, but I'm happy where I am right now so I can be patient. My biggest hurdle was finding what juices to try. I knew I wanted something safe and USA made, so I scoured youtube for reviews. I learned the difference between PG and VG, and decided that I wanted to stick with either high or pure VG juices for a number of reasons, not least among which is the fact that I really don't want a throat hit. One of my favorite youtubers kept talking about a company called Virgin Vapors, whose juices are all 100% organic and also offer an Absolute Virgin line of pure VG juices. I went on their site and ordered a few things, and fell in love with what I got. My only regret is that I didn't get full-sized bottles of what I ordered in samples. Haha!
Razzmatazz ~ I LOVE raspberry so this was a natural selection for me. Unfortunately, I got it in sample size. It just wasn't enough! The flavor on this is just perfect! Spot on and light, sweet and kind of tangy. I just love it. A must-try for raspberry lovers.
Hunger of Persephone ~ I also love pomegranate, so I had to try this one as well. Again, I only got the sample size. Dangit. This flavor is just perfect. It really does taste just like pomegranate. I went through that tiny little 4.3 mL bottle in less than two days. Seriously, this stuff is awesome. If you like pomegranate, you should at least try the sample.
Death By Chocolate ~ The last of my 3 samples, and an award-winning flavor. My God, yall. Just... holy cow. I had to let this steep for about a week to get the flavor to fully mature, but when I did... Think chocolate liqueur truffle, the good stuff. No Hershey's garbage here, we're talking imported gourmet Belgian dark chocolate. This is, by far, the best one of the bunch. I am a happily addicted choco-holic, and guys, this stuff is top notch. If you are a chocolate lover, you have GOT to try this. If you don't love it when you first get it, let it steep! It doesn't need to breathe; just set it somewhere dark and let the flavor mature. You will be glad you did.
Cotton Candy Carnival ~ One of two full-sized 1/2 ounce bottle, thank goodness! This stuff started out good and only got awesome. So sweet and almost a little creamy, it's one of my new favorites - and it's also a close second to that amazingtastic chocolate flavor just above. Seriously, really good flavor here. Again, just like with the chocolate, if you're not loving it when you first get it, let it steep. About a week seems to be the peek for every juice I've tried from this company so far, except for the below.
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ~ Clearance for a reason. Unfortunately, I bought the big 1/2 ounce bottle, too. I'm kicking myself for that. There is this sweet note in it that just overpowers absolutely everything, and it's just NASTY! I got these juices the day after I got my kit and it's been steeping ever since, but it's still not vapable for me. The flavor has been discontinued, so you don't have to worry about this one, but man, talk about disappointing. This was the only juice I ordered that wasn't stellar, so I'm glad to see it's being removed from the line-up.
It's worth noting that ALL of these juices came in very sturdy brown glass bottles with dripper caps. The labels of each include the flavor name, basic ingredients list, batch number, best by date, PG/VG ratio, and nicotine content, as well as the company name and website address. Seriously high-quality, I think.
My only complaint so far with vaping is that the flavor seems so light. I haven't really commented on it because I'm still so new and these are my very first juices, so I'm not sure if it's supposed to be that way (I'm thinking it is). Once I get a new batch of juices from another company I'll have something to compare to, and I'll be able to make more of an assessment at that point. For now, just know that all of the reviews above are as truthful and accurate as I can make them, but I am a new vaper, and again, these are my very first juices so I have absolutely nothing to compare them to.
I think that's pretty much it. I really wanted to try some Halo juices, but I'm a little scared to since they don't say what the PG/VG ratio is. I might at some point, but for now I'm going to stick with companies that at least give that much information. If you know of a good company who makes quality juices and is up front about their ingredients and everything, please do send me a message with their website. I'm always looking to try something new. Also, if you've made it through both parts of this crazy long essay, kudos to you! lol ^.^ Thanks for reading and have a great day!
