Well, it's been 18 days since I had a real smoke. The bf threw me a birthday party over the weekend, and I can say it was a success! A few smoker friends, recently quit or thinking about quitting, mentioned how they'd really love a smoke while they were drinking. I wound up pulling out a few mods and passing them out. Not one analog was smoked over the weekend! The bf made a few remarks, but at the end of the day, he told me he was proud of my hobby. I don't think it was so much because it helped me quit though. He is a computer geek, and he thinks its "cute" that I wire my own mods. He says I'm the only gf who's ever said to him, "Hold on a sec, k babe? I'm soldering right now."
I am still learning so much. I have a few RBAs, kanthal wire, and various wicking materials coming in the mail. I figure my next step is to experiment with cotton/silica/ss mesh to find which I prefer. I recently tried a different atty this weekend, and was a little disappointed about how the taste came out. I realize now that I think the silica I was using just tasted different than the cotton. Also, while shopping for mods and supplies, I realize that I will probably never get a real APV; I love modding my own inventions too much. Whenever I go shopping, it constantly crosses my mind when I see something whether I could mod it. Problem?
Also, an obscure thought, I've also been shopping for drip tips. I've seen beautiful glass blown drip tips that I fell instantly in love with, but I can't justify the price. I've also seen some decent, cheap acrylic ones. It got me thinking. Could different drip tip materials affect juice taste as I have recently discovered with wicking? I've only used the cheap plastic the comes gratis with the cheapy attys I've been using. I also tried an aluminum one, but I don't like the fit. I love to be crafty, and don't like buying something if I think I could make it better myself. I think this might mean a new project on the horizon.
