I have gotten a positive response from the "ReoGrand" blog I made.
All goes to prove that Mr. Oneil is very popular here at ECF. And to clarify that for me, being one of his "Older" customers, what makes him great for me may not be the same that makes him great for you.
This is why there is Chocolate and Vanilla. But.... the "Reo" mods are a big hit no matter which flavor you like.
I will now "Transition" into the "Monkey Boxx" which is along similar lines to the "Reo."
Tom Buss has taken the "Reo" idea one step further. He is using the quality wood, just like Mr. Oneil, only he is making the box from scratch using all of the choices you give to him including custom engraving.
I am one of the 1st batch in the "Kong" buyer category. It is not advertised much, but when I went to his Youtube page, I saw 1 of them with the "Dallas Cowboys Star" on it.
I wrote to Tom, asking what bat it used and if I could get one.
The bat question is very interesting. He is using two 26500 bats. Now, the maker, "AW" has not made any new ones of these in months. So, even if you get the "Kong" mod, how will you power it without them?
Tom told me to go to "SuperTmanufacturing" where I have bought many of his "Drip Tips," but not any of his mods including the "Precise" or "P18" as they are known. Since I have the "GG" line, it was just to similar of a thing for me, but still a beautiful product in the "Looks" Dept.
I sent of the money to Dave at SuperT to buy 4 of the 26500's. The sign under the bat said "Out of them and not expected until May..." Since this was in the end of June, and the computer program Dave uses "Let" me buy them, I thought that he got them in.
The next day I heard from Dave that the bats were not in and not expected till the end of July. I wrote him back about the May date.... He wrote me back thanking me. He did not realize that it still said that and should now say since he has not had them in a few months "Expecting the end of July."
He made the change to the Site and asked me what I wanted to do. Since I need them to use the "Kong" I told him to keep the money and make sure I was one of the 1st to get them when they come in. He said that he has been promised to have one of the 1st ones to come in from "AW." I wrote to him recently and he told me not this week, maybe next week.
But... let's talk about the "Kong." This mod is not for everyone. Those of you who like small, let's say the regular "Monkey Boxx" may not be for you as it is a thick item. But the "Kong" is a "Monster."
For me, perfect for a collection that is vast and for the use of a bat that cannot even be had.. all for the better.
I did not give him instructions for an engraving... so I saw him modeling the "Kong" boxes when they came back from engraving... as he does regularly to show everyone what to expect.
He showed a "Kong" that had a picture of King Kong, 75th Anniversary on top of the Empire State Bldg, swatting an airplane. It was so big that it went over where the juice hole is.
I thought to myself, that would be great if he could make one like that for me. He took it down and said... "this is for daveg. He did not let me know what he wanted and I hope he likes it." I wrote to him what I just told you. This was a matter of fate.
This box is more than just something for vaping. He will also do custom handpainting.
So, to tie this up, I compare the "ReoMods" as they were the 1st to have the fine wood. Now with the "Monkey Boxx" we go the next step to have the find wood and start from scratch with your choice.
Any lover of the "Reo" most likely will love the "Monkey Boxx." Tom does have a smaller version too, much like Mr. Oneil having the "ReoMini."
