It's the battery and charger damnit! If you use a faulty battery you will get what faulty
batteries do! If you use a faulty charger you will get what faulty chargers cause .... faulty
batteries.
Almost without exception, these accidents have happened with
batteries fresh off a charger.
You can change the mods all you want to, these accidents will still continue to happen until we do something about the cheap chargers.
Put a Li Ion bat on a NIMH charger and see what happens!

With Lithium batteries, you really do need a Digital Multimeter. You want to make sure the charger is not over charging the batteries. Ideally, they should come off the charger at 4.19 or 4.20 volts. Anything above 4.23 volts is getting into the danger zone.
How many know or follow that simple suggestion?
