Review: Halo - Tribeca

Blend Notes:
12mg nicotine, Halo's proprietary PG/VG ratio.

Throat hit is pretty satisfying and the vapor production is really good. It's on the thicker side, so I feel like this might have a decent amount of VG.

Flavor Notes:
vanilla, caramel, nuts

The liquid in the bottle smells primarily of vanilla and caramel. There's a powdery tinge in the background that I recognize as Halo's base flavor, as all of their blends have it. In a bottom coil clearomizer, that powdery taste is unforgivably, but the other flavors come alive in a low resistance atomizer.

This seems to share a tobacco base with Turkish tobacco. I could be wrong, but Turkish Tobacco has a metallic taste in it akin to a penny. I've only tried Turkish in a plastic clearomizer so this can't be attributed to a metal atty. I didn't care for it at all. I can still taste this in my atomizer, but it's not as strong.

Tribeca's vanilla is smooth, darkened by the caramel, and there's a roasted flavor that makes this lightly nutty. There's a creamy note on the exhale. The overall effect is of toffee, almost like the candied parts of peanut brittle. Because I'm sensitive to nutty flavors in general, someone who loves nuts and is looking for a nutty blend would find this underwhelming.

Halo's tobacco flavors don't really taste much like tobacco to me with the exception of Captain Jack. Rather, the "tobacco" blend serves a dark carrier for the other flavors. Overall, I do really like Tribeca, and I feel like it's worth keeping around, but I'm not sure I would purchase it again.

I really felt that tribeca was way too sweet, wondering if I am the only one who came away with this impression???
