This is my story of why I got into vaping. There is so much good information in ECF contained in a vast sea of threads, so I thought using the blog feature to consolidate my thoughts would be a great route.
In 2005, while I was in the Army, I started dipping. At first, I used to do it just after meals, then meals and before bed, on and on and more and more. To make a long story short, in no time I was dipping pretty much all the time. Since leaving the military in 2009, I took my habit with me. I was very self-conscious about dipping because in my mind I knew it was my vice of choice, and also my weakness. From time to time I would attempt to quit. I averaged about 1 to 3 days before I was sucked back in.
Fast-forward to 2013. I finally decided to quit and I looked to vaping in order to help. I decided on vaping after talking to a few of my coworkers and hearing about their success at quitting smoking. I search online for a good three days looking for a relatively inexpensive kit to start me on my vaping journey. I settled on a nice kit containing two eGo-VV, two clearomizers, and a bottle of juice.
On 22 January, I officially made the jump into vaping. I am happy to say that it is day 38 and I have no intention (or desire) to go back to tobacco.
One of the things that really attract me to vaping is the developing sub-culture that comes along with it. I’ve always been a tinkerer and mechanically adept so the immense amount of devices, mods, and configurations intrigued me immensely. I know that I’ll enjoy getting into the vaping world for more than an effective way of breaking the addiction to tobacco products. I suspect that even after I complete my process of lowering my nic levels down to 0mg, I will continue exploring vaping as a type of hobby.
I really like the number of knowledgeable people ECF allows newcomers access to. So far, I’ve found a lot of good information about questions I’ve had.
So what’s next?
Realizing I only reached the tip of the iceberg I wanted to experience more. I recently bought a relatively cheap APV, as well as a rebuildable atty and some juice samplers to try out. My plan is to start slow, but I know I’ll speed-up a bit as I go.
Right now I’m interested and pursuing dripping, reading about different mods I might want to try, building coils, and finding those two or three juices that I can’t live without.
I would eventually like to look into bottom feeders, DIY liquids, and experimenting with my own box mods.
So in a nutshell, that’s my story so far, as of the time of this post. I hoped you liked reading a little more about me and I hope to see you around the forum.
Thanks for your time.
