So... I didn't exactly end up sticking to plan and ended up buying some more stuff from fasttech. They came out with a Kayfun 3.1 clone and I had to have it for some reason, that and I realized my little IGO-L is harder to deal with than a Trident clone.
Also... They came out with an Ohm Meter for 510 connections and I thought hmm.. this would make a good building deck and make my life easier. There goes $242 on gear only.... Oh well, it's not so bad, I spent almost that much on 1 mechanical mod and some drip tips in 2009/2010, this time I'm walking away with a protank, itaste svd, 6 18650 batteries, nitecore i4 charger, igo-l, ithaka clone, kayfun 3.1 clone, chi you clone, 5 spare protank coils, & a trident clone.
I have some old ego batteries I picked up awhile back, so I can use those with the protank as my extremely travel friendly ecig. Though I pretty much use my iTaste SVD for travel because one NCR18650B lasts me about 3 days, 3 tanks on the protank. (9ml or so)
I'm figuring on $250ish in gear only, because I'm probably going to pick up a genesis atomizer as well at some point, but still not bad. Then it's all consumables. Silica, mesh, kanthal, and e-liquid. Plus some new batteries every once in awhile.
How's the Quit Going?
As far as how I'm doing quitting dip, well that's basically a done deal, it wasn't nearly as difficult as moving from cigarettes to e-cigs. I think the delivery time is similar between the two.
I'm not really sure between Snus or e-cigs which one is "better" for you but because of my cigarette cravings I knew I had to get the e-cig again. I will be using General Snus probably indefinitely, but I'm not worried about it. It's just for when using an ecig is inconvenient.
I know that since quitting/not using as much dip my teeth are starting to look a lot better. They were always brown, but that's because I was always dipping. I also couldn't tell when my breath stunk because it was always masked with wintergreen or straight dip flavors. A lot of taste has actually come back again, and I didn't really realize that dip messed up your taste buds. Dipping is a cleaner habit than smoking, and vaping is a cleaner habit than dip. That's all I can really say at this point. I like the cleaner habit because I know that having a dirty mouth full of spit isn't going to make people too fond of me.
