For the past 2 years that I have been into this hobby called vaping, I have been purchasing all that I could as each new item becomes available. Some have been great, some good and the rest: not so good. But in order to know for yourself, unless you are a Reviewer that is known by all, you have to pay for the item to find out how it is.
I am speaking today on the topic of attys, specifically what is called the "Repairable" type that you can keep remaking till the end of days.
I started out with Drew's Ato-Miser. The idea was a simple one, take a wick, run a wire around it and then attach 1 part of the wire to 1 screw, the other to a 2nd screw. You then put it together, dropped liquid in and it worked. The flavor was good as well. The only thing I did not like was there was no actual place for the juice to go, so it went all over it, some comming out of the little hole in the bottom that was used to let air in, but for the 1st time, I had the feeling of: If I were stuck on an Island and all I had was a bat, this atty, wick and wire, I could vape forever, or at least until the bat died!
For me, the Iatty was next, the new item from Imeo that took the idea and made it more like a "Real" atty in that you put the wire and wick stretched over a small "Cup." You also used 2 types of wires, 1 a heating type that streched across the small ceramic cap, the other attached to both ends being non-heating type of wires. It took me a while to get better at working this as it was much harder than Drew's. But in the end, I wound up being pretty good at making that one and have come to love it and love the flavor of the juice.
Through Imeo showing us where he bought all of the wick and wires, I went to those places and bought enough wick and wire to last my full life on the Island.
I then found out about the Bulli A-2 Tank which is the same idea as the 2 before except it uses a very small wick and small wire. I got it a couple of days ago. Luckily, Cetin, the owner, made the 1st one for me so that is what I have been using at 1.5 ohms. When it comes time to make another, I will watch Scott's Youtube "Igethcha69" I think is the name on Youtube where he shows how to make the Bulli wick and wire.
I have now been reading about Dan's Scubagen V3 and it looks alot like the same type of idea only put on top of juice and then sealed in another plastic cup type thing. I am not sure if he is making them, but I did send him a PM here at ECF to find out if he is making and selling them.
Putting attys together has been my next step in this vaping journey. I look forward to all of the ideas that come out on this wonderful hobby called vaping and hope that many more Modders will step up to keep this ball rolling for years to come.
