So after loads of experimenting, I have settled on three preferred liquid-delivery systems:
Vision Ego Stardust CE4+: Pick any of the preceding two names, you know what I am talking about: those transparent cone-shaped clearomizers with measuring lines on the sides. I use the LR ones on my EGOs.
PROS: Leakproof. Really. Slick-looking. Flavor is clear but not especially strong. Easy to fill and clean.
CONS: Can mute some flavors. Draw is tight, sometimes infuriatingly so. SR version is not so great. Vapor is middling.
Smoktech Dual Coil tanks: These are the stock-standard tanks with the drilled and flanged cartomizers. I have not yet gotten up the courage to add any holes to my cartomizers so I just use the pre-punched ones as they come. I use them mostly on the Provari Mini.
PROS: Don't leak *much*. Flavor is clear and strong. Large liquid capacity. Readily available and cheap.
CONS: Does seep a little after filling. Occasional hot-juice-in mouth moments which are unpleasant. Can get gurgly if you don't maintain the correct balance of liquid inside the tank vs inside the carto. Flooding is common.
XXXL Dual Coil Clear Cartomizers: These are available from several vendors but I got mine from Juice ...... I LOVE these, they are gaining rapidly on the Stardusts as my preferred device.
PROS: Great medium draw, huge liquid capacity, no gurgling, clear and strong flavor, marvelous vapor, inexpensive. Rubber drip tip actually stays put. Easy to fill. No leaks.
CONS: Being able to see the liquid pooling in the filler, while convenient, is kind of gross. Looks a bit weird on an EGO battery. Not really cleanable unless you have more patience than I do with stuffing the polyfill back correctly into the tube.
Looks like the clear cartos are the future for me. Aesthetic issues aside, they simply work well, as intended, out of the box. That is practically a miracle.
